Luke Hilton topped two of Thursday’s three 2026 GB4 Championship testing sessions to end the opening day at Silverstone fastest overall.

The Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing driver set a 2m02.528s lap during Session 2, placing him 0.290s ahead of Hillspeed’s Enzo Hallman. Douglas Motorsport’s Conor Grant completed the top three, just 0.005s further back.

Hilton sets the pace in opening sessions

Hilton immediately moved to the top of the order by setting the fastest time during Thursday morning’s opening session. He then improved by approximately 0.150s in Session 2 to establish the day’s outright benchmark.

His 2m02.528s lap remained unbeaten throughout the final session and gave Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing first place in the combined classification.

Hallman leads final session

Hallman became the only other driver to top a session on Thursday after setting the pace during the final 30 minutes of running.

The Hillspeed driver recorded a 2m02.818s lap to finish 0.290s behind Hilton in the combined order.

Grant followed only 0.005s behind after taking second in Session 3. His quickest lap placed the Douglas Motorsport driver third overall and 0.170s ahead of championship leader Alex O’Grady.

Title rivals run closely matched

O’Grady set his best time during the final session to secure fourth for KMR Sport.

The championship leader finished 0.465s away from Hilton’s benchmark and held a narrow 0.024s advantage over nearest title rival Fred Green.

Green took fifth for Elite Motorsport through his quickest effort from Session 2. He finished 0.170s ahead of Fortec Motorsports’ Thomas Ingram Hill in sixth.

Coulthard edges Cegielski by 0.001s

Dayton Coulthard put the second Douglas Motorsport car seventh in the combined classification. Only 0.001s separated Coulthard from Fortec’s Franciszek Cegielski in eighth.

Pace Performance’s Torrin Byrne followed in ninth, while Elite’s Emmilio Valentino Del Grosso completed the top 10. A gap of 0.980s covered the leading 10 drivers at the end of the three sessions.

Newcomers join 29-driver field

A joint-record 29 drivers took part in Thursday’s running around the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. Scorpio Motorsport newcomer Faris Organji finished 21st, 2.341s behind Hilton’s fastest time. William Rohan placed 24th for Arden Motorsport as the American prepared for his UK racing debut.

Testing continues at Silverstone on Friday with three further sessions before Qualifying and Race 1 take place on Saturday.
