American youngster William Rohan will make his UK racing debut with Arden Motorsport when the 2026 GB4 Championship visits Silverstone this weekend.
The 17-year-old already possesses experience of the GB4 car after joining the championship’s official Snetterton test in June. He also brings previous single-seater racing experience from the Ligier Junior Formula Championship in the United States.
Rohan will join Arden regulars Michael Koh and Solenn Amrouche as the team expands to three cars for the Silverstone event.
Snetterton test provides valuable GB4 experience
Rohan immediately challenged the midfield runners during his first GB4 test at Snetterton.
Despite his limited experience in the car, he recorded the 11th-fastest time during a wet session at the end of the opening day. He also finished inside the top 15 in the overall classification.
The test allowed Rohan to familiarise himself with the GB4 machinery and work alongside Arden before his first race weekend in Britain.
“I’m incredibly excited and grateful to be partnering with Arden Motorsport in my GB4 debut at a track as storied as Silverstone. This represents a meaningful step in what I hope is a long journey in open-wheel racing. Notwithstanding my excitement and desire to compete, this weekend is really about managing expectations and appropriately defining success, with my primary goal being to learn as much as possible from my team, teammates, and peers in a highly competitive and constructive environment.”
Rather than place immediate pressure on results, Rohan plans to use the weekend to gain experience and develop his understanding of the car.
American experience supports Rohan’s progression
Rohan made his single-seater racing debut during a short Ligier Junior Formula Championship campaign in 2025.
He contested four races across Virginia International Raceway and Alabama Motorsports Park, securing two sixth-place finishes before ending his campaign with fourth in the season finale.
Those results demonstrated steady progress during his limited programme and helped prepare him for his move into GB4 machinery.
However, Silverstone will present a new challenge as Rohan adapts to a different championship, circuit and racing environment.
Simulator work forms part of Silverstone preparations
Rohan has continued his preparations through seat time in Arden’s simulator ahead of testing at the British Grand Prix venue.
The simulator programme has allowed him to learn Silverstone’s layout and prepare for the high-speed demands of the circuit before returning to the car.
Meanwhile, Koh and Amrouche will provide established reference points as Rohan settles into the team’s expanded line-up.
Arden backs Rohan’s potential
Arden Motorsport Team Principal Garry Horner believes Rohan demonstrated strong potential during his limited racing programme in America and his Snetterton test.
“William has shown plenty of promise in his limited single-seater experience so far. His results in America demonstrate he’s a driver with good potential, and he was strong in testing a few weeks ago despite his lack of seat time compared to the rest of the drivers on this year’s grid. Silverstone will be a fresh challenge for him, but with our experience we’re confident he’ll run well alongside Michael and Solenn.”
Arden will now use its experience to support Rohan as he adapts to the competitive GB4 field.
With previous testing mileage and simulator preparation behind him, Rohan will aim to maximise every session and establish a strong foundation for his continued development in single-seater racing.
