Nikola Tsolov extended his advantage at the top of the 2026 F2 Drivers’ Championship standings to 20 points following the Feature Race at the Hungarian GP.
The Campos Racing driver recovered from 12th on the grid to finish seventh, while nearest rival Gabriele Minì collected only two points in ninth. Rafael Câmara closed to within two points of Minì after taking third, while Feature Race winner Noel León climbed into fifth.
Meanwhile, Invicta Racing moved into second in the Teams’ Championship after Câmara and Joshua Dürksen both scored. Campos strengthened its lead to 74 points, while MP Motorsport dropped to third following a difficult Sunday in Budapest.
Tsolov extends championship lead to 20 points
Tsolov entered the Feature Race with 161 points and a 16-point advantage over Minì following Saturday’s Sprint Race.
However, the championship leader started only 12th after receiving a five-place grid penalty for his collision with Sebastián Montoya. Tsolov also became involved in further contact during the opening lap but continued and gradually recovered through the field.
The Bulgarian passed Minì during the second half of the race before gaining further positions in the closing stages. He eventually finished seventh and collected six points, increasing his championship total to 167.
Minì crossed the line ninth after struggling to maintain his early position. The MP Motorsport driver added two points and moved from 145 to 147, allowing Tsolov to increase his advantage from 16 to 20 points before the championship’s summer break.
Câmara moves within two points of Minì
Câmara strengthened his championship challenge with his second podium of the Budapest weekend.
The Invicta Racing driver started from the front row and initially lost second to León. However, he remained inside the leading group throughout the race and applied late pressure to Kush Maini in the battle for second.
Câmara ultimately finished third and added 15 points, increasing his total from 130 to 145. He remains third in the standings but now trails Minì by only two points, having reduced the gap from 15 after the Sprint Race.
The Brazilian also sits 22 points behind Tsolov, compared with a 31-point deficit before the Feature Race. Therefore, the top three remain closely matched with five rounds still to contest.
Dunne retains fourth after another point-less race
Alexander Dunne remains fourth in the Drivers’ Championship despite failing to score for the second race in succession.
A suspension failure during Qualifying left the Rodin Motorsport driver 17th on the original grid. Dunne ran an alternative strategy and briefly led before making his mandatory pit stop late in the contest, but he could only recover to 11th.
The Irishman therefore remains on 108 points. He now trails Câmara by 37 points, while his advantage over León has fallen substantially.
Dunne held a 39-point advantage over León following the Sprint Race, but the Mexican’s victory reduced the gap to only 14.
León climbs to fifth with maiden Feature Race victory
León recorded the largest points gain in the Drivers’ Championship after claiming his first Formula 2 Feature Race victory.
The Campos Racing driver started third and passed Câmara for second during the opening lap. He then benefited from the timing of a Virtual Safety Car to make his mandatory pit stop with a reduced time loss.
That strategy placed León ahead of Maini among the drivers who had completed their stops. Although Maini closed during the final laps, León kept the ART Grand Prix driver behind and won by 0.887s.
León collected 25 points and increased his total from 69 to 94. As a result, he climbed from sixth to fifth and moved ahead of Dino Beganovic.
He now trails Dunne by 14 points and holds a six-point advantage over Maini.
Maini rises to sixth after pole and second place
Maini also made significant progress in the standings after securing pole position, finishing second and recording the fastest lap.
The ART Grand Prix driver led the opening phase and established an advantage of approximately four seconds before the pit-stop sequence. However, León gained time by stopping under the Virtual Safety Car and emerged ahead once Maini completed his stop.
Maini closed the gap during the final laps but could not find a way past. Nevertheless, he secured 18 points for second and one for the fastest lap, while his Qualifying pole added another two to his weekend total.
The Indian driver therefore added 21 points to move from 67 to 88. He climbed from seventh to sixth and sits six points behind León.
Maini’s result also moved him nine points ahead of Beganovic heading into the next round at Monza.
Beganovic drops two places despite scoring
Beganovic continued his strong Budapest weekend by finishing sixth in the Feature Race.
The DAMS Lucas Oil driver used the alternative strategy and made progress during the closing stages, passing Dürksen before the chequered flag. His result earned eight points and increased his total from 71 to 79.
However, the larger scores recorded by León and Maini pushed Beganovic from fifth to seventh in the standings.
He now trails Maini by nine points but retains a 14-point advantage over eighth-placed Laurens van Hoepen.
Van Hoepen climbs to eighth after second Budapest podium
Van Hoepen followed his Sprint Race podium with fourth place in the Feature Race, completing his strongest weekend of the season.
The TRIDENT driver moved into fourth during the opening lap and remained among the leading runners throughout the strategy phase. He eventually finished 4.994s behind León and collected 12 points.
Van Hoepen increased his total from 53 to 65 and climbed from ninth to eighth, moving ahead of Martinius Stenshorne.
The Dutch driver now sits 14 points behind Beganovic and six ahead of both Stenshorne and Inthraphuvasak.
Inthraphuvasak draws level with Stenshorne
Inthraphuvasak earned 10 points after finishing fifth for ART Grand Prix.
The Thai driver passed Dürksen during the closing laps and increased his championship total from 49 to 59. Although he remains 10th, he has drawn level with Stenshorne.
Stenshorne failed to score after finishing 21st following opening-lap contact and an early pit stop for repairs. He consequently dropped from eighth to ninth but remains ahead of Inthraphuvasak on countback.
The pair trail Van Hoepen by six points and hold a 17-point advantage over Dürksen.
Dürksen and Bennett collect final points
Dürksen finished eighth and added four points to his championship total.
The Invicta Racing driver ran inside the top five for much of the race but lost positions to Inthraphuvasak, Beganovic and Tsolov during the closing laps. He nevertheless increased his total from 38 to 42 and consolidated 11th place.
Dürksen now holds a four-point advantage over Rafael Villagómez, who retired after stopping in the Turn 12 run-off area.
John Bennett claimed the final point in 10th and increased his total from 17 to 18. He remains 18th in the standings, four points behind Roman Bilinski and four ahead of Nicolás Varrone.
Lower half remains largely unchanged
Ritomo Miyata retained 13th with 34 points after finishing outside the top 10, while Oliver Goethe remained 14th on 29.
Montoya stayed 15th with 28 points following a 16th-place finish. Colton Herta and Bilinski also failed to score and remain on 26 and 24 points respectively.
Varrone holds 19th with 14 points, ahead of Mari Boya on 12. Emerson Fittipaldi and Cian Shields remain level on 10 points at the bottom of the standings.

Tsolov leads Minì by 20 points, while only two points separate Minì and Câmara in the battle for second. León’s victory moved him into fifth, while Maini climbed to sixth after collecting 21 points across Qualifying and the Feature Race.
Campos extends Teams’ Championship lead to 74 points
Campos Racing delivered the joint-largest team score of the weekend’s final race and significantly strengthened its championship position.
León contributed 25 points through his victory, while Tsolov added six after recovering to seventh. Their combined haul increased Campos’ total from 230 to 261.
The team’s advantage grew from 56 points after the Sprint Race to 74 following the Feature Race. Campos now leads Invicta Racing, which moved into second.
Invicta climbs to second after double-points finish
Invicta Racing added 19 points through Câmara and Dürksen.
Câmara contributed 15 with his third-place finish, while Dürksen collected four in eighth. The team increased its total from 168 to 187 and moved from third to second.
Invicta now trails Campos by 74 points but holds an 11-point advantage over MP Motorsport.
MP Motorsport falls to third
MP Motorsport scored only two points in the Feature Race through Minì’s ninth-place finish.
Goethe failed to score after finishing 18th, leaving the team with a total of 176 points. MP consequently dropped from second to third as Invicta moved ahead.
However, MP remains nine points clear of Rodin Motorsport, which failed to score with Dunne and Stenshorne. Rodin stays fourth on 167 points.
ART matches Campos with 31-point gain
ART Grand Prix produced one of the strongest team performances in Budapest through Maini and Inthraphuvasak.
Maini’s pole position, second place and fastest lap contributed 21 points, while Inthraphuvasak added 10 by finishing fifth. ART therefore gained 31 points and increased its total from 116 to 147.
The team remains fifth but has reduced its deficit to Rodin from 51 to 20 points. ART also holds a 44-point advantage over DAMS Lucas Oil.
DAMS moved to 103 after Beganovic contributed eight points, while Bilinski failed to score.
TRIDENT strengthens seventh place
TRIDENT collected 13 points after placing both cars inside the top 10.
Van Hoepen earned 12 points through fourth, while Bennett contributed one in 10th. Their results lifted the team from 70 to 83 points.
TRIDENT remains seventh but has increased its advantage over Hitech from 10 to 23 points.
Hitech stayed on 60 after Miyata and Herta finished outside the points. Van Amersfoort Racing, PREMA Racing and AIX Racing also failed to score and remain on 52, 40 and 20 points respectively.
