Freddie Slater claimed victory in the Budapest Round Feature Race at the 2026 F3 Hungarian GP. View the full race results here.
There was drama early with Jin Nakamura, Maciej Gładysz and Gerrard Xie colliding, with Gładysz and Xie in the barriers at Turn 13, bringing out the safety car.
When racing resumed, Salim Hanna stopped on track ahead of Turn 13, prompting a Virtual Safety Car. Racing began again on Lap 7, with Slater creating a gap to Colnaghi in P2.
On Lap 10, Ugochukwu made a double overtake on the outside of Turn 2 on Badoer and Colnaghi, moving into P2, right behind championship rival Slater.
Kanato Le stopped on the side of the track ahead of Turn 13, on Lap 13 bringing out a brief Virtual Safety Car to retrieve his ART Grand Prix machinery.
On Lap 15, there was contact between Yevan David on Enzo Deligny, who then hit Fernando Barrichello. Deligny and Barrichello retired from the race, with another Safety Car brought out to retrieve the AIX machinery of Barrichello.
Racing resumed on Lap 18, with Slater and Ugochukwu battling back and forward out front.
At the conclusion of the Feature, Slater claimed his first FIA F3 victory, ahead of Ugochukwu and Badoer.

Penalties
- Théophile Naël received a 5 second and 10 second time penalty. Both were for forcing Tuukka Taponen off track, on Lap 18 and 24. With the 15 seconds in the penalties, the Campos Racing driver dropped from P5 to P20.
- Gerrard Xie received a 5 second time penalty for causing a collision between Jin Nakamura and Maciej Gładysz on the opening lap, as well as 1 penalty point added to Xie’s record. As he didn’t finish the race, he has received a 3 place grid penalty.
- Salim Hanna received a 5 second time penalty for a false start.
- Yevan David received a 10 second time penalty for a collision with Enzo Deligny and Fernando Barrichello. David remains P23 with the penalty.
- Nicola Lacorte received a 10 second time penalty for driving erriatically. On Lap 16, after exiting Turn 5 and on approach to Turn 6, Lacorte made 2 changes of direction when defending against Alessandro Giusti. Lacorte dropped from P8 to P18 in the final classification.
