Edoardo Mortara topped the FP2 timesheets at the 2026 Formula E London E-Prix; view the full session report here.
The London E-Prix Round 16 & 17 finale kicked off with an eventful FP1 session, which saw Mitch Evans go fastest as Nyck De Vries and Pascal Wehrlein completed the top three. Notably, CUPRA KIRO experienced brief technical issues while several drivers struggled with the low-grip track conditions.
Heading into FP2, drivers and teams will now look to fine-tune their setup ahead of Round 16 Qualifying, as the battle for the Drivers’ Championship intensifies.
Green light for FP2 at the Formula E London E-Prix
Evans led the field onto the track as the 40-minute FP2 session began. After taking their time to warm up their tires, drivers began to complete their first flying laps, with Evans setting the early benchmark of 1:17.079. His Jaguar TCS Racing teammate António Félix da Costa quickly improved, going 3.257s quicker.
Da Costa’s lead didn’t last long as championship leader Jake Dennis found strong pace in his Andretti car, taking the top spot with a 1:09.330. Meanwhile, reigning World Champion Oliver Rowland clipped the wall at Turn 9, forcing him to return to the pit lane for minor repairs.
Mahindra Racing finds the top
Edoardo Mortara led the pack at the halfway point, sitting ahead of Maximilian Günther, De Vries, Joel Eriksson, and Taylor Barnard. Making his way back onto the track, Rowland suffered from two back-to-back interruptions during his fast laps as Barnard and Nico Müller blocked his way. Race Control was quick to hand Müller a black-and-white flag for the incident.
Mortara continued his lead with a 1:07.284 while teammate De Vries made his way up to P2, briefly making it a Mahindra Racing 1-2. De Vries soon dropped down to P4 as Evans and Dennis took P2 and P3, respectively.
10 minutes to go
Heading into the final moments of the session, drivers struggled to beat Mortara’s time as Wehrlein jumped into P2, still 0.283s off Mortara’s time. Despite having a small moment on track, Müller followed his teammate, making his way up to P3.
Completing one of his final push laps, Felipe Drugovich had minor wheel-to-wheel contact with Wehrlein, leaving him P16 on the timesheets. However, through it all, Edoardo Mortara remained at the top, sitting ahead of Pascal Wehrlein and Nico Müller.
