KMR Sport’s Alex O’Grady claimed his second Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award of the 2026 GB4 season after setting the quickest race lap at Snetterton.
The championship leader produced a 1m48.468s effort during Race 1, underlining the pace that helped him take two victories from the opening two contests of the weekend.
Therefore, O’Grady is now the only driver to have won the award twice this season, having previously set the fastest race lap at Oulton Park.
O’Grady sets benchmark in Race 1
O’Grady spent the early stages of Race 1 running behind title rival Fred Green, who led from pole before retiring on Lap 7.
The KMR Sport driver inherited the lead and then used the clear air ahead to increase his advantage over the chasing pack.
His quickest lap came on Lap 9, when he recorded a 1m48.468s before going on to win the race by 1.687s from Pace Performance’s Torrin Byrne.
The result marked the start of a highly successful Snetterton weekend for O’Grady, who followed his Race 1 victory with another win in Race 2.
O’Grady fastest again in Race 2
O’Grady remained the driver to beat in the second contest, where he again recorded the fastest lap.
His Race 2 benchmark sat around four-tenths away from his Race 1 effort, meaning the earlier 1m48.468s remained the quickest race lap of the entire weekend.
Hillspeed’s Enzo Hallman then set the fastest lap during the heavily interrupted reversed-grid finale, which ended under red flags after five laps.
Neither effort displaced O’Grady from the top of the weekend classification.
Second Sunoco award of 2026
The Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award goes to the driver who records the quickest race lap across each GB4 event.
Sunoco, the championship’s control fuel supplier, presents the award throughout the season.
O’Grady first claimed the prize at Oulton Park with a 1m34.827s lap and has now become the first driver to win it twice in 2026.
Elite Motorsport’s Green earned the opening award at Silverstone, while Hallman topped the times at Donington Park. Fortec Motorsports’ Thomas Ingram Hill then recorded the quickest race lap during GB4’s second visit to Silverstone.
With O’Grady adding Snetterton to his Oulton Park success, four different drivers have now claimed the award across the opening five events.
