Tom McLennan and Andrew Georgiadis will make their GTWC Australia Pro-Am debuts at Sydney Motorsport Park, sharing the #81 McLennan Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 R under the stewardship of Earl Bamber Motorsport.
The pair will join the grid for the penultimate round of the 2026 season from 18–20 September, with their campaign potentially extending to the Adelaide Grand Final.
McLennan returns to the series after previously competing in the Trophy class, while Georgiadis will make his series debut following his progression through Porsche Sprint Challenge Australia and Carrera Cup Australia.
McLennan steps up to Pro-Am
Sydney will not mark McLennan’s first GTWC Australia appearance, but it will be his first in the Pro-Am category and his maiden GT3 outing.
The Queenslander previously competed in the Trophy class in 2023, where he secured podium finishes. He has since gained further experience across GT4 competition and several Australian national categories.
McLennan joined Nathan Morcom in a Method Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4 during a part-season Monochrome GT4 Australia campaign in 2024. The pair secured a Silver class pole before finishing second and third at The Bend, then followed that with a clean sweep of class victories at Queensland Raceway after McLennan secured pole.
He later partnered Zoe Woods in the TekworkX Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS at Phillip Island before returning to the championship earlier this year alongside Dean Campbell in Method Motorsport’s Ford Mustang GT4.
Beyond GT racing, McLennan has competed in Porsche Sprint Challenge Australia, Formula Ford Australia, Formula Regional Oceania, the Bathurst 6 Hour and Porsche Carrera Cup Australia.
His next step will come in the previous-generation Porsche 911 GT3 R, with two test days at Queensland Raceway already completed.
“I’ve done two test days in the new Porsche at Queensland Raceway and I’m really excited to make my GT3 debut,” said McLennan.
“I can’t wait to get down there just to figure how the Porsche handles a real high speed track. There’s similarities between the GT3-specification and a Cup Car at Queensland Raceway, but in Sydney it’s going to be totally different due to the high-speed nature of the layout. I’ve heard Turn 1 is flat, so that will be exciting in a GT3R.
“I’ve never raced in GT3 before, but I’m excited for it and to compete against some of the leading Supercars drivers is an awesome opportunity.
“Andrew is no slouch; he’s a gun in Carrera Cup and I believe he’ll adapt well to the GT3.
“SRO Motorsport Australia run a very good series and I enjoyed racing in GT4 when I’ve competed previously. I like the format of two one-hour races and being able to share the driving duties is an attractive proposition.”
Georgiadis continues rapid rise through Porsche ranks
Georgiadis enters GTWC Australia with considerably less overall racing experience, having only started competing in 2024.
However, his short career has already produced regular class podiums in Porsche competition.
He debuted in Porsche Sprint Challenge Australia at Phillip Island in 2024 and became a consistent Pro-Am contender as the season progressed. Across the final nine races of that campaign, Georgiadis secured six class podiums, including two victories.
He remained in the championship in 2025 and added another six podiums alongside eight top-five Pro-Am finishes from 17 races.
Georgiadis stepped up to Carrera Cup Australia for 2026 and reached another milestone at Queensland Raceway, where he claimed a class pole before securing his first victory in Race 2.
His Sydney appearance now provides another significant step as he moves from Porsche one-make machinery into GT3 competition.
“It’s an unreal experience to drive the new 911 GT3 R,” said Georgiadis.
The car is brilliant and the aero is something that I’m going to have to get used to.
“It’s a very, very quick package and obviously, the braking marker gets pushed back a bit further, so I just need to put my trust in it. We have some test days coming up, so we hopefully can dial ourselves in and prepare intricately.
“Partnering up with a co-driver is the most exciting part for me because I haven’t done that at this level before. Tom knows how to steer a car well and he’s vastly experienced, so I’m excited to learn along the way.”
Earl Bamber Motorsport to oversee Porsche entry
McLennan Motorsport will run under the guidance of Earl Bamber Motorsport for its step into the Pro-Am field.
The #81 Porsche will also carry a fresh interpretation of McLennan Motorsport’s distinctive pink livery as the combination joins the championship for Sydney.
Both drivers enter with significant Porsche experience, although adapting to the GT3 R will present a different challenge. Its greater aerodynamic performance and braking capability will become particularly important around Sydney Motorsport Park’s high-speed layout.
For McLennan, the round represents an opportunity to build on his previous GTWC Australia appearances at a higher competitive level. Georgiadis, meanwhile, will combine his GT3 debut with his first experience of sharing a car during a championship event at this level.
The pair will contest the Sydney round, with hopes of returning for the season finale in Adelaide.
