The Sprint Race saw Taito Kato claim his maiden 2026 F3 victory in the Italian GP Sprint Race. See the full results from the 2026 Monza Round Sprint Race at the Italian GP.

Rodin Motorsport locked out the front row, with Brando Badoer starting from pole alongside teammate Pedro Clerot in P2. All 30 F3 cars made a clean getaway, with Badoer leading Clerot and Tuukka Taponen through the opening lap. However, the lead changed hands on Lap 2 when Badoer locked up into Turn 1 before running wide on the exit of Ascari. Clerot capitalised on the mistake to move into the lead.

The battle at the front intensified on Lap 4 when Fernando Barrichello, Badoer and Taponen made contact along the main straight. Barrichello was forced to retire from the race, while Badoer sustained front-wing damage. Giusti capitalised on the chaos to move into the lead heading into the second chicane, while Ernesto Rivera climbed into P3 as a Safety Car was brought out.

When racing resumed, Maciej Gładysz encountered an issue and stopped on the run to Turn 4, prompting a brief Virtual Safety Car period as marshals worked to retrieve his car.

On Lap 10, smoke began to billow from the back of Clerot’s Rodin as the field approached Turn 1. In the confusion, Xie made contact with Shin, launching Xie’s car into the air. Both drivers were okay following the collision, but the incident brought out another Safety Car period to allow the stricken cars to be recovered.

On Lap 13, racing resumed again. Championship leader Slater made a charge through the pack, moving into the podium positions.

At the conclusion of the F3 Sprint Race at Monza, Taito Kato claimed his maiden F3 victory, ahead of Slater in P2 and Hiyu Yamakoshi in P3.
