AJ Foyt Racing has confirmed the signing of Dennis Hauger on a multi-year deal, starting from the 2027 IndyCar season. The Norwegian driver switches from Dale Coyne Racing after a single campaign.
Following his championship victory in 2025 with Andretti in Indy NXT, the 23-year-old stepped up to main game this year. On debut at St. Pete, he qualified in an unbelievable P3, before a good run to 10th in the race.
Four more top 10s in qualifying followed in 2026, although a big top 3 or 6 result never came as DCR generally lacked the race pace of the big teams, as well as Hauger still having to learn these cars and racing on ovals as well. His best racing was arguably on the IMS road course, finishing a superb 8th from the back of the field.
Despite getting taken out by Sting Ray Robb at Laguna Seca, Hauger got into the Leaders Circle and won the Rookie of the Year award.
