Mercedes-AMG factory driver Maxime Martin will join GetSpeed Team PCX Racing for the Michelin 24H Barcelona as the 2026 Michelin 24H European Series reaches its championship-deciding finale at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
The Belgian will race the #28 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo alongside full-season drivers Patrick Charlaix, Jordan Boisson and Benjamin Paque, with Cesar Gazeau completing the five-driver line-up. Team PCX enters Barcelona fourth in the overall standings while leading the GT3 Pro-Am classification, giving Martin an immediate role in two championship fights.
Despite consistently showing front-running pace throughout the campaign, the #28 crew has yet to take an overall victory in 2026. Barcelona therefore provides one final opportunity to convert that speed into a win while securing the Pro-Am title and remaining involved in the overall championship battle.
Martin strengthens GetSpeed PCX title challenge
Martin adds significant factory experience to a Team PCX line-up that has remained among the leading contenders throughout the season. The Mercedes-AMG driver has extensive experience across international GT racing and endurance competition, giving GetSpeed another proven option for the only uninterrupted 24-hour event on the European Series calendar.
The #28 Mercedes currently sits fourth in the overall championship, but the structure of the Barcelona finale means the team remains mathematically capable of influencing the title fight. With 60 points available across the weekend, a strong result combined with problems for the championship leaders could substantially reshape the final standings.
Team PCX enters the weekend in a stronger position within GT3 Pro-Am, where it leads the class standings. Securing that title will therefore form an important part of the team’s objectives, although an outright victory would provide the strongest possible conclusion to a season in which the car has repeatedly demonstrated competitive pace without reaching the top step.
GetSpeed sister car leads overall championship
The strongest position within the GetSpeed organisation belongs to the #286 Team JR286 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, which arrives at Barcelona leading both the overall championship and GT3-Am standings.
GetSpeed founder Adam Osieka returns to the driving line-up alongside regular competitors Patrick Liddy, Steve Jans, Jonathan Hirshberg and Tanner Harvey. The crew took victory last time out at the 12H Nürburgring, a result that moved it to the top of the standings at the ideal point in the season.
However, its advantage remains narrow enough to keep the finale wide open. The Sainteloc Junior Team sits only 10 points behind with the #18 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II, meaning GetSpeed cannot rely solely on protecting its position through a conservative race.
Sainteloc remains closest challenger
Sainteloc arrives in Barcelona as the nearest threat to the championship-leading #286 Mercedes. The French squad will again field Pierre Kaffer, Elia Erhart, Michael Doppelmayr, Ernst Inderbitzin and Stephane Tribaudini in the #18 Audi.
The crew already demonstrated its endurance credentials by winning the 12H Mugello earlier in the season and now has the opportunity to overturn its 10-point deficit in the longest race of the European campaign.
With Barcelona offering 24 hours of uninterrupted competition, the title battle could change quickly through mechanical trouble, contact, penalties or lengthy repairs. Sainteloc therefore needs to remain within reach of the leading Mercedes throughout the event while maximising its own points opportunities.
HOFOR keeps Mercedes-AMG firmly in title fight
Mercedes-AMG also occupies third in the overall standings through HOFOR Racing, which remains another significant factor in the championship battle.
The Swiss squad will field its established line-up of Torsten Kratz, Maximilian Partl, Alexander and Chantal Prinz, and Chantal’s father Michael Kroll. HOFOR already claimed victory at the 12H Paul Ricard during the 2026 campaign and brings considerable long-distance experience into the finale.
Its position means three Mercedes-AMG crews occupy places inside the leading four of the overall standings. While Team JR286 holds the championship advantage and Team PCX leads Pro-Am, HOFOR retains its own opportunity to capitalise should the teams ahead encounter trouble during the 24-hour contest.
Sturm leads Proton Competition’s title defence
Porsche-supported Joel Sturm will headline Proton Competition’s line-up as the reigning European Series champions attempt to retain their crown.
Sturm will share the #73 Porsche 911 GT3 R with Manuel Lauck, Lucas Wolf and Jörg Dreisow. Proton enters Barcelona fifth in the standings and remains mathematically alive in the championship with 60 points available, although it needs a strong result and favourable outcomes elsewhere to overturn the deficit.
The team also arrives without an outright victory in 2026. That makes Barcelona particularly significant, as Proton looks to combine its title defence with an opportunity to finally put the #73 Porsche on the top step before the campaign concludes.
Up2Race returns after Nürburgring podium
Up2Race will return with the #88 Porsche 911 GT3 R after making an immediate impression during its Michelin 24H Series debut at the Nürburgring.
Tim Heinemann again joins Fabio Grosse, Alfred Renauer and Oleksiy Kikireshko after playing a major role in the team’s second-place result last time out. His performance helped Up2Race establish itself as an immediate front-running presence, and the German operation will now attempt to carry that momentum into a considerably longer race.
Barcelona represents another substantial test for the relatively new entry. Sustaining competitive pace for 24 hours while avoiding major delays will provide a different challenge from the Nürburgring event, but the team’s debut podium suggests it can already compete with more established crews.
Tilley joins Era Motorsport for Ferrari effort
Era Motorsport has expanded its line-up for the finale by adding team founder Kyle Tilley to the #81 Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo.
Tilley, a Rolex 24 at Daytona class winner, joins full-season drivers Ryan Dalziel, Jake Hill, Dwight Merriman and Oliver Bryant. The additional experience gives Era another strong option for a race that places heavy demands on driver rotation, consistency and traffic management.
The Ferrari becomes one of several cars on the grid carrying a line-up packed with established endurance experience. Era will look to use that depth to remain competitive through both the daylight and overnight phases before positioning itself for the final hours on Sunday.
Gamota brings high-profile line-up for Creventic debut
Gamota Racing will make its Creventic competition debut with a particularly experienced line-up in the #500 BMW M4 GT3 EVO.
Nürburgring 24 winners Jesse Krohn and Felipe Fernandez Laser will join team owner Antal Zsigo, David Jahn and Moritz Kranz. The Slovakian squad only formed earlier in 2026 but has already produced competitive performances across multiple GT championships.
Gamota underlined that progress by taking pole position in NLS8 at the Nürburgring shortly before its Barcelona appearance. Adding Krohn and Fernandez Laser gives the team two drivers with significant high-level endurance experience as it tackles its first Michelin 24H Series event.
Red Camel carries momentum into 992 title fight
Red Camel-Jordans.nl enters Barcelona leading the 992 standings after a strong sequence of results that has placed the Dutch team in control of the class championship.
Brothers Luc and Rik Breukers will again share the #909 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup with their father Ivo and Fabian Danz. The crew arrives fresh from victory in the Michelin 992 Endurance Cup at Spa, adding further momentum to a campaign that has already featured major successes.
Red Camel holds a 24-point advantage over Mühlner Motorsport, which remains its closest championship rival. Conrad Tox Leveau, Martin Rump and Joshua Bednarski have so far been confirmed for the #921 Porsche as Mühlner attempts to overturn the deficit during the final 24 hours of the season.
HRT looks to complete 992-Am title campaign
HRT Performance enters Barcelona leading the 992-Am standings with its established driver line-up of Steven Gambrell, Igor Sorokin, Jonathan Kearney and James Kellett.
The team has built its class advantage through consistent performances across the European campaign and now reaches the finale with an opportunity to convert that work into a championship.
As with the overall and 992 title battles, however, Barcelona’s length means the standings can change quickly. Avoiding extended repairs and maintaining a steady pace through the night will remain crucial if HRT wants to protect its advantage through to the chequered flag.
Vortex arrives with GTX title already secured
Vortex V8 also appears on the revised Barcelona entry list with the #701 Vortex 2.0.
The team has already secured the GTX championship after building a commanding points lead and wrapping up the title at the 12H Nürburgring. It currently stands as the only car entered in the class for Barcelona, meaning its weekend will focus more on completing the season strongly than fighting a direct class rival.
Its presence nevertheless adds another element to a 34-car field containing a broad range of machinery across the GT3, 992, GT4, GTX and TCE-TCX categories.
Four points separate TCE-TCX title contenders
The TCE-TCX championship features one of the closest battles heading into the finale, with only four points separating the leading two crews.
AsBest Racing’s #102 SEAT Leon Cup Racer and the #114 Not Only Motorsport Ligier JS2 R enter Barcelona almost level in the standings, making the 24-hour finale effectively decisive for the title.
Seven cars are set to compete in TCE-TCX, giving the class one of the larger fields outside GT3 and 992. Traffic, reliability and the ability to remain out of trouble should therefore play an important role as the championship contenders attempt to stay at the front of their category.
Barcelona set to decide European Series titles
The 34-car field will begin the competitive portion of the weekend with qualifying on Friday afternoon before night practice prepares drivers for the conditions they will encounter after sunset.
The Michelin 24H Barcelona starts at 12:00 local time on Saturday, equivalent to 07:00 EST, and runs without interruption until midday Sunday. Live coverage will be available through the Creventic Motorsports TV YouTube channel with commentary from Radio Show Limited.
GetSpeed Team JR286 enters with the overall advantage, but Sainteloc remains only 10 points behind and both HOFOR and Team PCX retain championship ambitions. Proton also remains mathematically capable of defending its title, while separate battles in 992 and TCE-TCX ensure the season finale carries championship implications throughout the 34-car field.
For Martin, Barcelona provides an opportunity to immediately contribute to GetSpeed Team PCX’s Pro-Am title challenge while helping the #28 crew pursue the overall victory that has so far eluded it. For the wider championship, 24 final hours at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will determine who leaves Spain as the 2026 European Series champions.
