Rodin Motorsport has confirmed Pedro Clerot will remain with the team for a second FIA F3 campaign in 2027 after the Brazilian completed an impressive rookie season with the British outfit.
Clerot finished sixth in the 2026 Drivers’ Championship after collecting five podiums across the year, while he ended the campaign on a high by claiming his maiden F3 victory in Feature Race 1 at Madrid. He then added another podium in Feature Race 2, completing a strong final weekend that underlined the progress he had made since stepping up from Formula Regional.
The 19-year-old will now continue that development in familiar surroundings as Rodin looks to build on its strongest Formula 3 season to date. The team finished sixth in the 2026 Teams’ Championship and recorded its highest points total since joining the category.
Clerot chooses continuity after strong rookie campaign
Clerot arrived in Formula 3 after finishing fourth in the 2025 Formula Regional European Championship, having previously won the Brazilian F4 title in 2022. His first F3 season quickly showed signs of promise, although his strongest results developed as the year progressed.
He collected Sprint Race podiums in Monaco, Barcelona and Spa-Francorchamps before producing his best weekend of the season at the Madrid finale. At Spa, Clerot also helped Rodin achieve its first FIA F3 double podium since entering the championship, finishing third behind teammate Brando Badoer in the Sprint Race.
That steady progression played an important role in Clerot’s decision to continue with Rodin rather than change teams for his sophomore campaign.
“I’m very happy to be staying with Rodin for my second year in FIA F3,” said Clerot. “We’ve built a really strong relationship this season and achieved some great results, improving race after race. I’ve felt at home with the team since day one, so continuing this journey together is very special.
Clerot’s comments reflect the value of continuity heading into a second F3 season. With a full year of experience in the current championship format and an established working relationship with Rodin, he can focus on refining the areas that separated him from the leading title contenders during his rookie campaign.
Madrid victory provides springboard for 2027
Clerot ended 2026 with his strongest performance of the season at Madrid, where he narrowly missed pole in the first qualifying session before starting Feature Race 1 from second.
He then made the decisive move immediately. Clerot beat Taito Kato away from the line, took the lead before Turn 1 and controlled the race through the interruptions that followed. Despite a red flag caused by a multi-car accident, the Rodin driver maintained his position at the front and secured his maiden Formula 3 victory.
The Brazilian followed that result with third place in Feature Race 2, giving him two podiums across the final weekend and lifting him to sixth in the Drivers’ Championship on 88 points.
That finish gives Clerot a clear benchmark as he prepares for 2027.
“I believe we have what it takes to fight at the front next season, and I’m excited to see what we can achieve together.”
Rather than beginning another adaptation process with a new team, Clerot will enter his second campaign with existing knowledge of Rodin’s engineering structure, working methods and approach to the championship. That continuity should allow both sides to begin 2027 with a stronger foundation than they had at the start of his rookie year.
Rodin backs Clerot after year of progress
Rodin Motorsport also views Clerot’s development across 2026 as a key reason to continue the partnership.
The team had already tracked the Brazilian closely before signing him for his rookie campaign, with Sporting Director Benn Huntingford describing Clerot as a strong prospect when Rodin announced him for 2026. Over the course of the season, the Brazilian translated that potential into consistent points, podium finishes and ultimately a race victory.
Huntingford believes the final weekend in Madrid offered a clear example of how much Clerot had developed since the opening rounds.
“We’re delighted to continue our relationship with Pedro for another season in FIA Formula 3. He’s really impressed the team this year, showing strong pace and making great progress throughout the season. To see him take his maiden win in Madrid was a fantastic way to end the year and a result that reflects the progress he’s made. Rodin itself also made gains during 2026. The team recorded its strongest Formula 3 campaign to date, while Clerot and Badoer contributed several podiums and race victories to its points total. That broader improvement gives the partnership additional momentum as both sides turn their attention towards the next season.
Second season brings higher expectations
Clerot will enter 2027 with a very different level of experience from the driver who joined the F3 grid at the beginning of 2026.
His rookie campaign gave him experience across the championship’s circuits, qualifying formats and race-management demands, while five podiums demonstrated his ability to compete near the front. More importantly, the Madrid victory showed that he could convert front-running pace into a win when the opportunity arrived.
Rodin will now aim to build on that progress rather than start again. With both driver and team already familiar with one another, the partnership can direct more attention towards outright performance as Clerot enters a season in which his own expectations have clearly increased.
After ending his rookie year with a breakthrough victory and another podium, the Brazilian will return to Formula 3 in 2027 with the same team, a full season of experience behind him and a stated objective of fighting consistently at the front.
