René Lammers set the outright benchmark across two days of 2026 Eurocup-3 Official Collective Testing at Jerez, leading an MP Motorsport 1-2 ahead of championship leader James Egozi.

The Dutch rookie controlled the opening day by topping all three Testing sessions and setting a 1:34.174 benchmark. However, Lammers found another 0.020s when the field returned on Wednesday and lowered the outright best to 1:34.154.

MP Motorsport teammate Ean Eyckmans ultimately finished just 0.053s behind, while Egozi improved significantly on Day 2 to take third overall. Thomas Strauven and Keanu Al Azhari completed the combined top five, with only 0.167s separating them from Lammers.

The six Testing sessions provided extensive preparation before Eurocup-3 returns to the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto for Round 6 of the 2026 season. With Egozi carrying a 107-point championship advantage into the weekend, the two-day test also gave his closest rivals valuable running before his first opportunity to secure the title.

Day 1: Lammers controls all three sessions

Lammers immediately established himself as the driver to beat when Official Collective Testing began on Tuesday morning.

The MP Motorsport driver set a 1:34.243 during Day 1 Official Collective Test 1, completing his fastest lap on the 17th of his 18 tours.

Al Azhari provided the closest challenge for Hitech with a 1:34.660, although the Emirati driver remained 0.417s behind Lammers. Christopher El Feghali followed only 0.002s further back for Drivex to take third.

MP Motorsport demonstrated its strength beyond Lammers, with Gianmarco Pradel and Eyckmans completing the top five. Pradel recorded a 1:34.717, while Eyckmans followed 0.047s behind.

Lammers then strengthened his position when the times dropped considerably during Official Collective Test 2.

The Dutchman lowered his benchmark to 1:34.174, but this time Eyckmans provided a much closer challenge. The championship’s second-placed driver recorded a 1:34.207 and finished only 0.033s behind his teammate.

Al Azhari also made a substantial improvement and took third with a 1:34.321. Pradel followed just 0.008s behind, putting three MP Motorsport cars inside the first four positions.

The session ultimately proved crucial to the Day 1 combined classification, with the leading times remaining out of reach during the afternoon.

Nevertheless, Lammers maintained his perfect record when the field returned for Official Collective Test 3.

His 1:34.534 gave him a 0.307s advantage over Strauven, who moved Griffin Core by Campos into second. El Feghali took third, another 0.037s behind, while the warmer afternoon conditions prevented the field from challenging the morning benchmark.

Lammers therefore ended Tuesday having topped all three sessions and held first place in the combined classification. However, the margins behind him remained small.

Eyckmans finished only 0.033s behind, while Al Azhari trailed the benchmark by 0.147s. Pradel followed another 0.008s back, giving MP Motorsport three drivers inside the leading four.

The tight order continued further down the classification. El Feghali completed the top five, while Strauven, Kacper Sztuka and Juan Cota remained within striking distance heading into the second day.

Day 2: Lammers improves as Egozi moves into contention

Lammers carried his Day 1 momentum directly into Wednesday morning and immediately improved the outright benchmark.

The MP Motorsport driver produced a 1:34.154 during Day 2 Official Collective Test 1, finding another 0.020s compared with his best Tuesday effort.

However, Egozi emerged as Lammers’ closest challenger.

The championship leader improved substantially compared with Day 1 and recorded a 1:34.271, leaving him 0.117s behind Lammers. Strauven followed only 0.008s behind Egozi in third, while Pradel and Eyckmans completed the top five.

El Feghali continued his competitive test with sixth ahead of Al Azhari. Popov followed in eighth, while Sztuka and Cota completed the top 10.

Lammers’ time ultimately remained the fastest of Wednesday and the entire two-day test. However, his run of consecutive session-topping performances ended when the drivers returned for Day 2 Official Collective Test 2.

Pradel moved to the front with a 1:34.520, giving MP Motorsport its fifth consecutive session at the top across the two days.

Eyckmans took second, 0.104s behind his teammate, while Powell moved Griffin Core by Campos into third. El Feghali continued his consistent appearance towards the front with fourth, while Cota completed the top five.

Al Azhari took sixth ahead of Lammers, with Maciá, Trappa and Strauven rounding out the top 10. Although Pradel topped the session, the times remained slower than those produced during the opening Wednesday run.

The final session then brought a significant change as Griffin Core by Campos took control of the top three positions.

Powell set a 1:34.970 during Day 2 Official Collective Test 3 to lead teammate Strauven by 0.155s.

Popov completed the Griffin Core by Campos 1-2-3, another 0.166s behind Strauven. Harrison placed fourth for Double R, while Maciá took fifth for Tecnicar by Amtog.

Tarnvanichkul gave Griffin Core by Campos four drivers inside the top six before Egozi finished seventh. However, the slower times ensured that nobody threatened Lammers’ benchmark from earlier in the day.

The Day 2 combined classification therefore placed Lammers first ahead of Egozi and Strauven.

Pradel took fourth through his morning time, while Eyckmans completed the top five. El Feghali followed in sixth ahead of Al Azhari, with Popov, Sztuka and Cota completing the leading 10.

For Egozi, the improvement represented an important change from Tuesday. After sitting outside the leading group on Day 1, the championship leader finished Day 2 only 0.117s away from Lammers.

That performance came ahead of a potentially decisive weekend. Egozi arrives at Jerez after extending his championship lead to 107 points at Silverstone and can secure the title during Round 6 if he leaves Spain at least 113 points ahead of his nearest rival.

Lammers leads Eyckmans in two-day combined classification

After six sessions and two days of running, Lammers’ 1:34.154 from Wednesday morning remained the outright benchmark in the combined Day 1 and Day 2 classification.

However, several of the leading drivers set their fastest laps at different stages of the test.

Eyckmans’ 1:34.207 from Tuesday’s second session remained enough for second overall. His time put him just 0.053s behind Lammers and ensured MP Motorsport occupied the leading two positions.

Egozi’s improvement on Wednesday elevated him to third overall with his 1:34.271. He finished 0.117s behind Lammers and only 0.064s away from Eyckmans.

Strauven took fourth with a 1:34.279, leaving the Griffin Core by Campos rookie only 0.008s behind the championship leader.

Al Azhari’s 1:34.321 from Tuesday secured fifth overall. As a result, four of the leading drivers in the Eurocup-3 Drivers’ Championship finished inside the combined top five.

Pradel completed the top six with a 1:34.329, putting three MP Motorsport drivers inside the leading six. El Feghali followed in seventh after another competitive two days for Drivex.

Popov took eighth for Griffin Core by Campos ahead of Sztuka and Cota, with the top 10 separated by only 0.523s.

Harrison finished 11th, while Dall’Agnol and Pérard recorded identical 1:34.712 laps. Dall’Agnol took 12th ahead of his Palou Motorsport teammate, with Powell following in 14th despite topping Wednesday’s final session.

The final classification highlighted MP Motorsport’s pace ahead of the race weekend. Lammers led four of the six individual sessions, while Pradel gave the team a fifth session-leading result. Eyckmans never topped a session but remained close enough to secure second overall.

Griffin Core by Campos also ended Testing strongly. Powell led the final session as the team occupied the top three positions, while Strauven ultimately finished fourth across the two days.

However, Egozi’s improvement represented one of the most significant developments on Wednesday. The Palou Motorsport driver moved into the top three and ensured he finished within 0.117s of the outright benchmark ahead of his first opportunity to secure the 2026 title.

Lammers, meanwhile, arrives at the race weekend with the outright Testing benchmark and momentum from Round 5 at Silverstone. The Dutch rookie sits fourth in the championship on 119 points, only nine behind second-placed Eyckmans.

Al Azhari separates the MP Motorsport pair in the championship and also remained firmly among the leading group throughout Testing. Consequently, the three drivers attempting to keep Egozi from wrapping up the title all demonstrated competitive pace at Jerez.

The six sessions ultimately leave Lammers with the benchmark ahead of Round 6. His advantage over Eyckmans amounted to only 0.053s, while Egozi, Strauven, Al Azhari and Pradel brought the number of drivers within two tenths to six.

Those margins set up a closely contested weekend at Jerez. However, the championship situation remains considerably less balanced than the Testing order suggests.

As outlined in the earlier, Egozi carries a 107-point advantage into Round 6 and needs to leave Spain at least 113 points ahead of his nearest rival to secure the championship.

Eyckmans, Al Azhari and Lammers therefore need to translate their strong Testing pace into results if they want to prevent the title fight from ending at Jerez. With all three finishing inside the combined top five, they enter the weekend having demonstrated the speed required to challenge the championship leader.
