GT Sport has revised its provisional 2027 calendars, with Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli replacing the Hockenheimring across the International GT Open, Euroformula Open and GT Cup Europe schedules.
The three championships initially planned to race at Hockenheim from 11–13 June 2027. However, GT Sport has moved the event forward by one week to 4–6 June and relocated it to Misano to avoid a clash with the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Misano replaces Hockenheim across three championships
The calendar change affects Round 4 of the International GT Open and Euroformula Open, alongside Round 2 of GT Cup Europe. All three championships will now visit Misano during the first weekend of June before travelling to the Hungaroring in July.
GT Sport had previously announced its provisional 2027 calendars, with the International GT Open and Euroformula Open set to contest eight rounds and GT Cup Europe retaining its six-round format.
Silverstone provided the most significant change when GT Sport originally unveiled the schedules. The British circuit will return to the International GT Open and Euroformula Open for the first time since 2018, while GT Cup Europe will not join the Silverstone weekend.
Now, the removal of Hockenheim provides a second venue change across the 2027 season.
GT Sport avoids 24 Hours of Le Mans clash
The originally scheduled Hockenheim event would have taken place across the same weekend as the 2027 24 Hours of Le Mans. Therefore, GT Sport opted to move its event rather than run the three championships alongside one of the biggest weekends on the international motorsport calendar.
However, the change does not significantly alter the overall structure of the season. Instead, the International GT Open and Euroformula Open retain eight rounds, while GT Cup Europe continues with six.
The International GT Open and Euroformula Open will still begin their respective seasons at Portimão in April before travelling to Spa-Francorchamps and Silverstone. Misano will now follow as the fourth stop before consecutive July rounds at the Hungaroring and Circuit Paul Ricard.
Meanwhile, GT Cup Europe will begin at Spa in May before joining the other two championships at Misano.
Misano retains place after successful GT Sport debut
Misano first joined the GT Sport schedule in 2026, when it hosted the International GT Open, Euroformula Open and GT Cup Europe.
The Italian venue represented the major addition when GT Sport confirmed its 2026 calendars, replacing the Red Bull Ring on the schedule. Its inclusion brought the three championships to the Adriatic circuit for the first time.
The venue subsequently produced a competitive first Euroformula Open weekend. Javier Herrera claimed his maiden victory in Race 1 before Jesse Carrasquedo won both Sunday races, completing a Mexican clean sweep of the 2026 Euroformula Open Misano round.
GT Sport reported positive feedback from competitors and fans following its first promoted event at the circuit. Consequently, Misano will now remain part of the promoter’s calendar for a second consecutive season.
International GT Open retains eight-round schedule
The International GT Open will continue with eight events despite the venue change. Portimão retains the opening round on 11 April before Spa-Francorchamps hosts the first GT Open 500 of the season on 2 May.
Silverstone follows two weeks later as GT Sport returns to the British circuit following a nine-year absence. Misano will then take over Hockenheim’s position as Round 4 on 6 June.
The Hungaroring and Circuit Paul Ricard complete the first part of the season in July. Following the summer break, Monza will host the second GT Open 500 before Barcelona concludes the campaign in October.
The calendar retains the same number of rounds as the 2026 season, which has featured growing grids and several teams already considering future programmes. Most recently, FAEMS Team by Nova Race confirmed its Monza debut as it evaluates a full 2027 International GT Open campaign.

Euroformula Open follows revised GT Open schedule
Euroformula Open will continue to share all eight race weekends with the International GT Open. Therefore, the single-seater championship will also exchange its planned Hockenheim round for Misano.
Portimão will launch the campaign before Spa and the returning Silverstone complete the opening three rounds. Misano then becomes the final event before the championship begins its two-round July run at the Hungaroring and Paul Ricard.
Monza and Barcelona retain their positions after the summer break, with the Spanish venue once again hosting the season finale.
Interest in the 2027 championship has already started to build. Among the confirmed additions, Palou Motorsport will join Euroformula Open with a three-car entry, expanding the grid for the new season.

GT Cup Europe retains six-round format
GT Cup Europe also exchanges Hockenheim for Misano, although its shorter calendar means the Italian event forms Round 2 of its season.
Unlike the International GT Open and Euroformula Open, GT Cup Europe will not compete at Portimão or Silverstone. Instead, Spa-Francorchamps will host its opening round on 2 May.
The championship will then travel to Misano on 6 June before joining the other GT Sport categories at the Hungaroring and Paul Ricard in July. Following the summer break, Monza will host the penultimate round before Barcelona concludes the six-event campaign.

Despite the latest revision, GT Sport has retained the broader structure it announced for 2027. The International GT Open and Euroformula Open will still contest eight rounds, while GT Cup Europe will visit six of those race weekends.
Silverstone therefore remains the major addition to the International GT Open and Euroformula Open schedules, while Misano now continues for a second season instead of Hockenheim.
Furthermore, the adjustment allows GT Sport to avoid the Le Mans clash without changing the July rounds or the final stretch of the season. All three championships will reunite at the Hungaroring and Paul Ricard before returning from the summer break for the final events at Monza and Barcelona.
