The 2026 Wera Tools F4 British Championship, certified by FIA, concluded at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit as Dries Van Langendonck secured the Drivers’ and Rookie Cup titles, while Hitech ended Rodin Motorsport’s two-year reign at the top of the Teams’ Championship.
Van Langendonck arrived at Brands Hatch with a commanding 72-point advantage over Lewis Wherrell after his double victory at Silverstone, leaving the JHR Developments driver as his only remaining mathematical challenger. With a maximum of 75 points available, Van Langendonck needed only a small score to settle the championship, while the Rookie Cup and Teams’ Championship also remained open heading into the final triple-header of the season.
Theo Palmer emerged as the standout performer of the finale. The Hitech driver claimed his first pole position of the season before winning Races 1 and 3, with those results also carrying him past Wherrell to secure second in the Drivers’ Championship. Joseph Smith prevented a clean Palmer sweep by taking the reverse-grid victory for Virtuosi Racing, leading teammate Jarrett Clark home for the first one-two finish achieved by any team during the 2026 campaign.
Van Langendonck, meanwhile, needed only the opening race to complete his championship mission. Second behind Palmer was comfortably enough to secure the crown with two races remaining, adding the British F4 title to a campaign that had already produced eight victories before the season finale. He subsequently completed the weekend as Rookie Cup champion, while Hitech secured the Teams’ title during Saturday’s opening race.
2026 British F4 Round 10: Brands Hatch: Qualifying: Palmer takes maiden pole
Palmer began the final weekend by producing his strongest qualifying performance of the season around the 2.433-mile Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit. The Hitech driver moved to the top midway through the session before continuing to improve, eventually setting a 1:24.417 to claim his first CADOLA Watches Pole Position Award.
Van Langendonck ensured he would begin his first opportunity to seal the title from the front row, setting a 1:24.691 to finish 0.274s behind Palmer. George Proudford-Nalder delivered late in the session for Virtuosi Racing to take third with a 1:24.885. The published qualifying classification placed Scott Kin Lindblom fourth, ahead of Chiara Bättig and Ethan Lennon, while Wherrell qualified seventh with a 1:25.038.
Only 0.621s separated Palmer from Wherrell, but their championship situations could hardly have been more different. Palmer was attempting to overturn his 8.5-point deficit to Wherrell in the fight for second, while Wherrell needed a near-perfect finale combined with a major Van Langendonck setback to keep the Drivers’ Championship alive.
Smith qualified 11th, directly ahead of Jaber Alsabah. That placed the Xcel Motorsport rookie on reverse-grid pole for Race 2, with Smith alongside him on the front row.

Race 1: Palmer dominates as Van Langendonck seals championship
Palmer converted pole into an immediate advantage when the lights went out on Saturday afternoon. The Hitech driver made a clean launch and began opening a gap almost immediately, while Van Langendonck settled into second and concentrated on completing the result he needed to become champion.
Lennon made one of the strongest starts behind them, moving past Proudford-Nalder and into third during the opening exchanges. Palmer remained unchallenged at the front, however, steadily increasing his advantage as the 20-minute contest progressed and setting the Lotus Fastest Lap in the process.
The Hitech driver eventually crossed the line 3.944s ahead of Van Langendonck, taking his second victory of the season. More importantly for the championship leader, second place was sufficient for Van Langendonck to be crowned the 2026 British F4 champion with two races still remaining. The 16-year-old also secured 12 FIA Super Licence points as part of his championship success.
Lennon initially completed the podium on the road but received a five-second penalty for a grid-box start infringement. That dropped the Rodin Motorsport driver to sixth and promoted Proudford-Nalder to third. Al Azhari climbed to fourth for Hitech, while Clark completed the top five ahead of Lennon.
Lindblom finished seventh, followed by Alsabah, Hewetson and Bättig. Wherrell could only manage 13th after qualifying seventh, ending his mathematical title hopes as Van Langendonck completed a remarkable late-season turnaround following a period when his advantage had fallen to only four points earlier in the year.
Palmer’s victory also had consequences beyond the Drivers’ Championship. His maximum score gave Hitech an unassailable advantage in the Teams’ standings, ending Rodin Motorsport’s two-year run as champion.

Van Langendonck completes championship mission
Van Langendonck’s second-place finish ended a championship contest that had changed dramatically during the final third of the season.
His campaign had appeared under serious threat after missing Round 7 at Donington Park, where Wherrell reduced the championship lead to only four points. Van Langendonck responded emphatically when he returned, winning twice at Croft before repeating that double at Round 9 at Silverstone. Four victories from six races transformed that narrow advantage into a 72-point cushion ahead of Brands Hatch.
That meant Van Langendonck could approach the finale conservatively, but he still qualified on the front row before following Palmer home in Race 1. His eighth race wins, four additional podium finishes and four pole positions across the campaign had already created enough of a margin to withstand Wherrell’s challenge.
The title also made Van Langendonck the latest name to join the championship’s roll of honour and earned him 12 FIA Super Licence points. His remaining target for Sunday became the Rookie Cup, which remained mathematically open after the Drivers’ Championship had been settled.
Race 2: Smith leads Virtuosi one-two in reverse-grid contest
Sunday began with the reverse-grid race and Alsabah on pole, but Smith immediately changed the order at the front.
The Virtuosi Racing driver made an excellent launch from the outside of the front row and swept past Alsabah on the approach to Paddock Hill Bend. Clark also capitalised on the Xcel Motorsport driver’s slower getaway, moving into second and giving Virtuosi control of the leading two positions.
Smith quickly settled into a rhythm at the front. Although the Lotus Safety Car briefly neutralised the contest, he controlled the restart and never gave Clark a realistic opportunity to challenge. His pace in clean air also allowed him to secure the fastest lap, adding a bonus point to his third victory of the season.
Clark crossed the line 1.191s behind his teammate, completing the first one-two finish scored by any team during the 2026 British F4 season. Their performance also strengthened Virtuosi Racing’s grip on third in the Teams’ Championship.
Alsabah resisted pressure behind to finish third overall and secure the Rookie Cup victory. Wherrell followed in fourth and remained ahead of Al Azhari, while Proudford-Nalder finished sixth.
Slater produced his best result of the season in seventh, with Bättig eighth, Hewetson ninth and Palmer 10th. Newly crowned champion Van Langendonck finished 11th, keeping his focus on the Rookie Cup battle before the final race.

Race 3: Palmer completes double and secures vice-champion position
The final race of the year returned Palmer to pole and gave the Hitech driver an opportunity to complete a perfect conventional-grid weekend.
He immediately took control. Palmer made another clean start and began opening a margin, while Proudford-Nalder and Van Langendonck fought aggressively behind. The Virtuosi Racing driver came out on top of their opening-lap battle and moved into second, leaving Van Langendonck to fall into the larger group fighting behind.
Palmer remained untouched from there. His advantage gradually increased to more than four seconds, and he again set the fastest lap to complete his second victory of the weekend. The combination of wins, pole and bonus points also moved him beyond Wherrell in the championship and secured the runner-up position in his second British F4 season.
Proudford-Nalder settled into a comfortable second and secured his seventh podium of the season. Lennon emerged from one of the race’s closest fights to take third, beating Wherrell, Lindblom and Bättig to the final podium position.
Wherrell finished fourth, with Lindblom fifth and Bättig sixth. Van Langendonck recovered from his early fight with Proudford-Nalder to finish seventh in the final race of his championship-winning campaign, ahead of Al Azhari, Clark and Hewetson.
The result completed a strong final round for Hitech. Palmer won two races, the team had already secured its first Teams’ Championship of this era on Saturday, and three of its drivers finished the final contest inside the top eight.

Van Langendonck ends 2026 as British F4 champion
Van Langendonck finishes the campaign with 344 points, 48.5 clear of Palmer after sealing the title in the opening Brands Hatch race.
The Belgian’s season ultimately included eight victories, four pole positions and numerous fastest laps, but his response to the pressure applied during the second half proved equally important. Wherrell had reduced the advantage to just four points during Van Langendonck’s absence at Donington Park, only for the Rodin Motorsport driver to respond with four victories across Croft and Silverstone.
Brands Hatch therefore became less about rebuilding the advantage and more about completing the job. Second in Race 1 immediately settled the championship, while Van Langendonck’s final two results carried him to 344 points in the final Drivers’ Championship classification.
Palmer’s outstanding Brands Hatch weekend lifted him from third to second. He entered the finale 8.5 points behind Wherrell, but two victories, pole and two fastest laps carried him to 295.5 points. Wherrell consequently finishes third on 267 after adding fourth-place finishes in both Sunday races.
Proudford-Nalder’s two podiums helped him rise to fourth on 199.5, moving ahead of Ethan Jeff-Hall, who ends the year fifth on 181.5. Lennon finishes sixth on 173 after completing the finale with another podium, while Lindblom, Al Azhari, Harfield and Clark complete the top 10.

Van Langendonck completes Drivers’ and Rookie Cup double
Van Langendonck also secured the Rookie Cup, completing a championship double after an equally close season-long fight with Wherrell.
The Rodin Motorsport driver entered Brands Hatch with a 23.5-point advantage, significantly smaller than his margin in the overall championship. Wherrell therefore remained a genuine threat throughout the finale, with Alsabah also continuing his strong rookie campaign behind the leading pair.
Van Langendonck ultimately finishes on 415 points, 24.5 ahead of Wherrell. His overall race victories repeatedly translated into maximum Rookie Cup scores throughout the season, while his consistency when he was not winning proved enough to withstand Wherrell’s strong second half.
Alsabah ends the year third on 278 after adding another class victory during the reverse-grid race. Nelson secures fourth on 233.5, followed by Kobakhidze and Hedfors. Wolny narrowly beats Jüngling to seventh by a single point, while Orzechowski and Sadiq complete the top 10.

Hitech ends Rodin’s Teams’ Championship reign
Hitech arrived at Brands Hatch with an 83.5-point advantage over Rodin Motorsport and needed only to protect that margin across the final three races.
Instead, Palmer’s form allowed the team to settle the championship immediately. His pole, opening victory and fastest lap combined with points from Al Azhari, Lindblom and Bättig to give Hitech an unassailable advantage during Saturday’s action.
The team continued adding to its total on Sunday. Palmer won again, while Lindblom and Bättig both finished inside the top six in Race 3 and Al Azhari added eighth. Hitech therefore completes the campaign with 601.5 points, 125.5 clear of Rodin Motorsport.
Rodin finishes second on 476 after Van Langendonck’s championship-winning season and additional contributions from Lennon and the team’s other drivers. Virtuosi Racing ends third on 409.5 after an especially strong finale that included Smith and Clark’s Race 2 one-two and two podiums for Proudford-Nalder.

Conclusion
Brands Hatch brought an eventful 2026 British F4 season to an emphatic conclusion, with the three races producing two different winners and settling the remaining Drivers’, Rookie and Teams’ championships.
Van Langendonck entered the finale with the Drivers’ title firmly within reach and required only one race to secure it. His second place behind Palmer completed a campaign defined not only by eight victories but by his response after Wherrell had dramatically closed the championship during the summer. The Belgian leaves Brands Hatch as both the overall and Rookie champion, while Wherrell’s own strong campaign ultimately concludes with third overall and second among the rookies.
Palmer provided the clearest indication of what might have been with a different start to the season. His first pole of the year and victories in Races 1 and 3 produced the strongest weekend of the finale and lifted him into the vice-champion position. Smith took the remaining victory, leading Clark home in a landmark Virtuosi one-two, while Proudford-Nalder and Lennon also concluded their seasons with podium finishes.
Hitech completed the weekend as Teams’ champion after entering Brands Hatch with a commanding advantage over Rodin Motorsport. Palmer’s opening victory settled that contest, before his second win of the weekend helped the team extend its final advantage beyond 100 points.
Across 30 races, British F4 produced 13 different winners and 19 different podium finishers, but Van Langendonck ultimately emerged as the benchmark. His title-winning response during the closing rounds ensured that a championship which had briefly tightened dramatically at Donington Park ended with the Rodin Motorsport driver comfortably on top.
