The Snetterton round of the BTCC was nothing short of chaotic and remarkable. We saw on track action across all 3 races and a mix up of the championship running.

NAPA Racing dominance at Snetterton BTCC round

NAPA Racing had a remarkable weekend, dominating the first two races of the day with Dan Cammish adding another career win in the books as did Dan Rowbottom. Ashley Sutton added another trophy to their remarkable weekend by finishing P3 in race 1 and P2 in race 3. Rounding off the weekends winners, we saw Mikey Doble achieving his first win in BTCC and became the first overall independent winner since 2022, racing under Motor Parts Direct.

The VERTU Team had a very mixed weekend in Snetterton. Tom Ingram finished P2 in race 1 and Tom Chilton finished P3, but we saw multiple racing incidents come from their own drivers. We saw contact, almost DNFs and spin outs, some of which were from Tom Ingram.

Scattered across the 3 races, racing action was at its peak, contrasting the F1 race in Monaco. The first race saw crashes, drivers “mowing the lawn” and even an open door from Nick Halstead on lap 10! Race 2 saw a couple of close calls with DNFs and we saw overtakes on overtake in just a short 12 lap race. Race 3, the start can only be described as chaotic, with Stephen Jelley unfortunately having a lap 1 crash and later on in the race we saw Chris Smiley unfortunately DNF due to a suspected mechanical issue. Our race 1 winner, Dan Cammish, had an incident with Speedworks Motorsport’s own Ronan Pearson, fortunately both drivers were able to finish the chaotic race.

Milestone celebrations

Aside from the on track drama, Tom Ingram celebrated his 100th career podium in Snetterton, despite the chaos in the first lap. NAPA Racing opted to return their 100th Birthday livery on Ashley Suttons car after racing with it in Brands Hatch, however his number has returned to 116 after a one off race weekend with the number 100.
