Nico Müller was running in the midfield before he ended up in the wall before the end of the first London E-Prix race. Sébastien Buemi pushed him wide, so Müller had to continue on with a damaged front wing. Buemi was given a 5-place grid penalty for causing the collision.

Müller on first London E-Prix race

Asked by Pit Debrief after the race, Müller says that not more than a couple of points would have been possible today.

“One or two points, maybe. Not much more than that. Because we had too many problems during the pit stop window, with alarms and so on.

The Swiss was not pleased with his first British experience as a Andretti driver. The crash packed event didn’t smile to him, who is now waiting for the next chance to score.

“From start to finish, it wasn’t an ideal race. Right from the start, I was on the wrong side in all the commotion heading down towards turns 5 and 6.

“So yeah, it wasn’t really our day, or at least not our race.”

Simple strategy can’t be made

Regarding the strategy, it’s important to be flexible instead of choosing a simple strategy, which is being seen through.

Muller didn’t share his team’s decisions strategy wise, highlighting the importance of adaptability.

“Drive forward,” the Swiss driver replied. “In these races, you have to be flexible, read the situation. To decide on a strategy and see it through from start to finish… that doesn’t usually work.”

Looking forward to a new chance to prove his worth tomorrow, Müller says qualifying will be important again.

“Everything! Good qualifying is important, and then we’ll see.”
