The GB3 Championship returns this weekend, and the legendary Spa-Francorchamps provides the stage for round six of the season. A 22-car entry ensures another fiercely competitive event as the rising stars of single-seater racing take on one of the world’s most demanding circuits.
Heuzenroeder leads the charge with Ninovic and Lisle in pursuit
Patrick Heuzenroeder arrives in Belgium in fine form. The Xcel Motorsport driver celebrated his best GB3 outing at Zandvoort with a victory and a podium finish. That performance handed him a 14-point championship lead. The Australian has grown steadily in confidence this season and will be eager to extend his advantage on the seven-kilometre Ardennes rollercoaster.
Close behind is Rodin Motorsport’s Alex Ninovic. The young Australian claimed his maiden GB3 win two weeks ago and continues to demonstrate raw speed and determination. He trails Heuzenroeder by just 14 points, leaving everything to play for.
Noah Lisle, another of the Australian contingent, completes the current top three. The JHR Developments driver has built his campaign on consistency, collecting regular points and podiums in his rookie season.
Fairclough flies the British Flag while Pradel, Johnson and the pack behind chase
Deagen Fairclough carries British hopes inside the leading group. Representing Hitech TGR, Fairclough’s strong double podium at Zandvoort propelled him into fourth place in the standings. His form underlines his rapid adaptation to GB3 machinery and his ability to fight at the sharp end.
Gianmarco Pradel, the third Rodin representative, sits fifth in the table. The Australian has twice stood on the podium and continues to underline his front-running potential.
Just five points behind lies American teenager Nikita Johnson, racing for Hitech. Johnson has shown flashes of brilliance in his sophomore campaign and will look to add further podiums in Belgium.
Elite Motorsport’s Will Macintyre remains a proven race winner in seventh place. Behind him, Hillspeed’s Freddie Slater makes his full-time GB3 return. Slater already knows what victory at Spa tastes like, courtesy of his Formula Regional triumph earlier this year.
Rising stars and returnees
Reza Seewooruthun impressed at Zandvoort and leads Argenti with Prema’s charge. Team-mate Lucas Fluxa follows closely, while Mercedes junior Yuanpu Cui also continues his development within the same outfit.
Rodin’s Abbi Pulling holds twelfth place, while Hugo Schwarze added his name to the winner’s circle last time out with a breakthrough triumph for VRD Racing.
Elsewhere, Indian racer Kai Daryanani targets a climb up the order with JHR, while Jack Sherwood will hope to convert Xcel’s speed into results after a luckless Zandvoort weekend.
Japanese pairing Hiyu Yamakoshi and Kanato Le rejoin with Hillspeed, while Elite fields both Flynn Jackes and Bianca Bustamante, the latter fresh from her career-best finish in GB3. Fortec’s Stefan Bostandjiev and Xcel’s Dion Gowda complete a competitive line-up.
