Rodin Motorsport have confirmed that 19 year-old Norwegian Martinius Stenshorne will join the team for his rookie F2 season in 2026. Having made his F2 debut last weekend in Baku, Stenshorne impressed during Qualifying but ultimately endured a disappointing first weekend that ended with retirements from both races.
Strong second F3 campaign with Hitech
After enjoying a considerably successful karting career where he claimed multiple titles, the Norwegian began his single-seater career in 2022. While he is yet to win a championship in single-seaters, his rookie season in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) impressed many, finishing the season in second behind current Formula 1 driver Kimi Antonelli. Although he fell short of the overall title, he claimed the Rookie Championship that season.
2025 saw Stenshorne return to the F3 grid with Hitech TGR for his second season. In his rookie campaign with Hitech in 2024, he managed to secure just one win, one podium and two additional points finishes to end the season 18th overall with 38 points to his name. Learning from a subpar first season, Stenshorne showed significant improvement this year in terms of the results he was able to achieve.
The 19 year-old began the 2025 season strongly, claiming a second-place finish in the Sprint Race at the season-opener in Melbourne. He followed this with several points finishes before he secured his first win of the season in the Monaco Sprint Race. His next victory came during the Feature Race at Spielberg. The following weekend, he secured another podium during the Silverstone Sprint Race, marking back-to-back podium finishes for the Norwegian. Subsequently, he ended the season with a final podium in the Monza Sprint Race.
While he wasn’t always able to score points consistently, Stenshorne’s performances were enough to secure him a fifth place finish in the championship overall.
Excited for next step up the single-seater ladder
Making the step up to F2 with Rodin next year, Stenshorne expressed his excitement about beginning this new chapter in his career for 2026: “I’m really excited to be joining Rodin Motorsport in the 2026 Formula 2 Championship. This is a big step forward in my career, and I’m grateful to the team for their trust and support. I can’t wait to get started in Abu Dhabi for the post season test and give it everything on track this upcoming season!”
Rodin Motorsport’s Sporting Director Benn Huntingford praised the 19 year-old’s potential and expressed confidence in his ability to deliver strong results in 2026.
“Confirming Martinius as our first FIA Formula 2 driver for 2026 is an exciting step for the team. He’s shown speed and maturity throughout his junior career and his debut in Baku gave a clear indication of the potential he brings. Formula 2 is a big challenge, but we’re confident he has the ability to adapt quickly and deliver strong results. We’re looking forward to supporting his development and working with him as he makes the step up.”
