Lucas di Grassi says he will treat his final Formula E race weekend like any other as the championship veteran prepares to bring his driving career in the series to a close at the 2026 London E-Prix.

Despite the significance of the occasion, Di Grassi does not intend to change his approach once he gets behind the wheel. Instead, the Brazilian remains focused on extracting the maximum from his final races and ending his Formula E career with the same competitive mentality that has defined his time in the championship.

Beyond the cockpit, however, Di Grassi expects to remain closely connected to Formula E while also turning more attention towards his growing business interests away from motorsport.

Di Grassi maintains familiar approach for final Formula E weekend in London

While speaking to the media, di Grassi insisted that sentiment will not influence the way he attacks his final Formula E races. Although the weekend represents the end of a major chapter in his career, he believes the competitive mindset takes over as soon as he puts on his helmet.

“Well, I think business as usual. We try to do the best we can. I think when we put the helmet on, we forget that it’s the last or one before last or whatever. And I’m just going to push as hard as I can.”

That approach means Di Grassi will concentrate primarily on performance rather than allowing the occasion to become a distraction. With his final Formula E laps approaching, he remains determined to compete at full intensity and maximise whatever opportunities the weekend presents.

Formula E remains close to Di Grassi

While Di Grassi is stepping away from racing in Formula E, he does not expect his relationship with the championship to end.

The Brazilian confirmed that he intends to remain involved in motorsport and Formula E in some capacity, although the exact nature of that role has yet to be decided. At the same time, he has several commitments outside racing that will increasingly demand his attention.

“Yeah, no, I will be around Formula E, at least in motorsport. I have a lot of plans outside of motorsport. I have a lot of companies that I’ve invested [in], that I’m helping to grow. And I have a lot of private stuff that I need to do. So I will be busy.”

Di Grassi has long maintained interests beyond driving, and his comments suggest those projects will form a significant part of his post-racing schedule.

Future role in championship remains open

Nevertheless, Formula E remains an important part of Di Grassi’s future plans. He expects to continue following the championship closely and believes there are several possible ways for him to contribute away from the cockpit.

“But on top of that, I will be also following Formula E. There’s a lot of things to do in Formula E as well. And I’m happy to continue. It’s not very clear yet in which exact role. But, yeah, Formula E is very close to my heart. So I’ll try to do the best I can here as well.”

Although he has not yet defined his next position, Di Grassi’s desire to remain involved ensures his final race weekend does not necessarily represent a complete farewell to Formula E.

Instead, it marks a transition from his role as a driver towards a new phase that could keep him closely connected to the championship he has helped shape over the course of his career.

Di Grassi targets competitive Formula E finish in London before next chapter

For now, however, Di Grassi’s immediate priority remains his final races.

Rather than approaching the weekend as a ceremonial farewell, he intends to maintain the same competitive focus he has carried throughout his Formula E career. Once the helmet goes on, the wider significance of the occasion will take a back seat to the task of delivering the strongest possible result.

What follows remains less defined. Di Grassi has business interests to develop, private commitments to manage and potential opportunities within Formula E still under consideration.

His driving chapter may therefore be reaching its conclusion, but his association with the championship looks set to continue.
