The 2025 F1 Academy Championship is heading towards a thrilling conclusion after an eventful Round 6 in Singapore. With only the Las Vegas finale remaining, Doriane Pin leads the Drivers’ Championship by just nine points ahead of Maya Weug, setting up a tense final battle between the two Prema Racing teammates.
After two exciting races under the lights at Marina Bay, the championship fight tightened, and several drivers made significant gains in the standings. Meanwhile, Prema Racing strengthened their hold on the Teams’ Championship, though MP Motorsport and Campos Racing remain within striking distance with one round to go.
High drama in Singapore keeps the Championship fights alive
The Singapore round delivered high drama across both races, with new winners and major shifts in the standings. Race 1 featured a remarkable performance from Lia Block, who started from pole in the reverse-grid format and claimed her maiden F1 Academy victory. Despite immense pressure from behind, the American driver managed the race superbly to take the chequered flag ahead of Maya Weug and Chloe Chambers.
The race saw multiple safety car interventions due to incidents involving Nicole Havrda, Rafaela Ferreira, and Alisha Palmowski, but Block maintained composure throughout. The win not only earned her a career milestone but also propelled her into the top ten in the standings.
In Race 2, the championship protagonists took centre stage. Maya Weug started from pole with Doriane Pin alongside her on the front row. The two title contenders broke away from the field early, trading fastest laps as light rain began to fall. Pin initially took the lead into turn one, but Weug fought back in the closing stages, overtaking her teammate to secure victory.
Ella Lloyd completed the podium, climbing to third place in the championship, just two points ahead of Chambers. Behind them, Emma Felbermayr, Alba Larsen, and Nina Gademan delivered strong drives to round out the top six.
With her victory, Weug closed the gap to Pin to just nine points, reigniting her championship hopes heading into the Las Vegas finale.
A battle to end
The 2025 Drivers’ title is now a two-way contest between Doriane Pin and Maya Weug. With a maximum of 39 points available in Las Vegas (including points for both races and qualifying), either driver can still secure the crown.
Doriane Pin (151 points) has led the standings since early in the season, showcasing speed, consistency, and control. Her ability to stay calm under pressure and avoid costly errors has been a hallmark of her campaign. Maya Weug (142 points), however, has been relentless in her pursuit. Her Race 2 victory in Singapore was her third win of the season and proved she is capable of taking the fight to Pin when it matters most. Weug’s form in recent rounds suggests she has both the pace and the momentum to challenge for the championship right to the wire.
Behind them, Ella Lloyd (101 points) and Chloe Chambers (99 points) are mathematically out of contention but locked in a close battle for third place overall.

Prema holds the advantage with a three-way battle for second behind
