Just over a month after the GB3 Championship concluded at Monza, teams and drivers have continued working at full speed. Preparations for the 2026 GB3 season have progressed rapidly, with more than 30 drivers testing the Tatuus MSV GB3-025 car across at least six circuits in the UK and Europe.

Testing so far has highlighted the increasingly international profile of the potential 2026 grid. Drivers from 18 nations have taken part in winter running, arriving from British, French, Italian and Spanish F4, as well as GB4, Formula Regional and F1 Academy. As a result, the early testing phase has drawn talent from a wide range of junior categories.

Key testing highlights

A major test at Spa-Francorchamps at the beginning of November featured 16 drivers over two days. Reported quickest laps fell in the 2m12.2s bracket, more than a second quicker than the pole position time set at the circuit earlier in the year. This provided teams with valuable early performance data.

Soon after, the Red Bull Ring hosted 15 drivers on 13–14 November, ahead of GB3’s first Austrian round next summer. During the two-day session, the best lap time recorded was 1m26.385s, giving teams initial insight into how the car responds at the Styrian venue.

Silverstone has served as one of the most active locations in the testing programme. Teams completed three days of running on 18–20 November and then began another three-day block this week. Fourteen drivers were on track on Tuesday, allowing teams to further develop their understanding of the 2025-specification car.

Testing for the 2026 GB3 Championship has also taken place at Donington Park and Snetterton. Arden driver Leon Wilson, the first confirmed entrant for 2026, completed his first run in the car at Anglesey before moving on to more traditional GB3 circuits. Meanwhile, several cars have travelled to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the venue for next year’s season finale, where lap times in the 1m34.2 range have been recorded.
