GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS will welcome back Zagame Autosport for a full-season assault in 2026, as the Victorian squad builds on an encouraging debut last year. After sampling the category at the 2025 finale in New Zealand, the team now steps up for a complete Pro-Am campaign.

Importantly, Zagame Autosport will once again field its striking Ferrari 296 GT3, with Josh Buchan and Cameron Campbell continuing their partnership in the #23 entry.

Zagame Autosport aiming to build on a promising debut in 2026 GTWC Australia campaign

The pairing first joined forces at the 2025 season finale in New Zealand. Despite limited preparation, they secured two top-10 finishes and left a strong impression on the paddock.

Buchan qualified fourth overall in a highly competitive field, immediately demonstrating the car’s pace. Meanwhile, Campbell showed encouraging speed in his official sessions before the duo converted their potential into results. They claimed eighth place in the opening race and followed it up with 10th in the weekend’s second encounter.

Consequently, the team exceeded its own expectations during what effectively served as a shakedown event.

Buchan brings proven pedigree to Zagame Autosport’s 2026 GTWC Australia challenge

Buchan enters the 2026 season with significant momentum. The Lithgow-born driver has established himself as one of Australia’s most accomplished touring car racers, claiming three consecutive TCR Australia titles between 2023 and 2025 as a factory Hyundai driver.

Earlier in his career, he dominated Formula Ford competition in New South Wales and progressed through Australian Formula 3 before switching to touring cars. Alongside his TCR commitments, he has also guided Zagame Autosport to podiums and race wins in Monochrome GT4 Australia.

As a result, he arrives in GT World Challenge Australia with both experience and leadership credentials firmly established.

“I can’t say how excited I am to be racing the full season in GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS. To do it with any of the manufacturers on the grid is phenomenal, but to do it in a Ferrari is very, very cool. Last year’s season finale in New Zealand was our team’s shakedown and it was the perfect way to get our crew used to what we will be up against in the upcoming season.

“We probably exceeded our expectations a little bit due to being a single-car entry in what is arguably the most technically advanced model on the grid, we performed well as a team.”

Buchan excited to work with Campbell

Buchan enters the season with significant credentials. The Lithgow-born racer has claimed three consecutive TCR Australia titles between 2023 and 2025 as a factory Hyundai driver, demonstrating consistency under pressure and an ability to lead championship campaigns. However, he was particularly complementary of teammate Campbell.

“Cameron’s phenomenal. A more committed guy you will not find. This program is 18 months in the making since the days when we first heard about it. Often with life, and how busy someone like Cameron can be, you can get distracted and move on before it even starts.

“Cameron’s so committed to what we’re doing, what the team’s doing and more importantly, what he’s doing inside and outside the car. We bounce of each other really well in that respect, we’re always pushing each other to be in as a good a nick as possible before we hit the track.

“He is such a raw talent that my job to mould him into exactly what I want from a co-driver is exciting. Cameron’s learning curve in the last 12 months has been ridiculous. Going from barely racing to competing for the first time at Bathurst last year, he was the only driver in Ferrari Challenge to do The Chase flat at 300km/h!

“Particularly in Australia, sometimes unless you race Supercars no one thinks you’re any good. Recently, I competed at the highest level in TCR toughest circuits against a lot more experienced drivers good at their craft and won. It’s a good field of drivers coming from a wide range of pathways, but I’m racing against myself and if I can do the best job I can, then I’m certain it’ll be good enough to put the car up the front.

A good combination for 2026

Looking ahead to the season opener, he expressed quiet confidence in the team’s preparation and technical support structure.

“The team and I believe we have a good combination. We’ve got good help and resource from Ferrari, and assistance from some great engineers, so hopefully we can do ourselves proud at the first event at Phillip Island.”

Campbell: Structured progress and clear targets for Zagame Autosport’s 2026 GTWC Australia challenge

While Buchan contributes experience, Campbell continues to build his résumé at GT level. The New South Welshman began his top-level journey in Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Australasia and finished third in the Trofeo Pirelli class standings after collecting seven podiums across five rounds last season.

Therefore, he enters 2026 determined to translate steady development into sharper, more consistent performances.

“I’m genuinely excited to be returning to GT World Challenge Australia in 2026, and even more excited to be doing it alongside Josh and the entire Zagame Autosport team.

“What stands out to me isn’t just the program, it’s the people. Josh, Rod (Wilson), and the whole group behind the scenes have built something special – There’s real belief within this team and there’s a shared commitment to getting better together.

“I learned a huge amount last season and every time I get back in the Ferrari 296 I see where I can improve. The focus for me is simple: be consistent, keep learning, and make small improvements every time I sit in the car. That’s how you build real progress.

A strong team at Zagame Autosport

Campbell especially highlighted the positive and productive environment at the team, praising both his teammate and the leadership structure within the team.

Both combine experience, leadership and belief have created a foundation that gives me absolute confidence – Josh has been an incredible mentor and teammate. He has great composure and understands how to build a driver, so I’m absorbing as much as I can. The belief and standard he has for me pushes me to lift my own game.

“Rod’s professionalism, structure, attention to detail and genuine car for people highlights his incredible leadership qualities. Rod has built an environment where accountability and support go hand in hand, and as a driver you feel that.

Ultimately, Campbell set a straightforward competitive objective for the season ahead.

“The more seat time I get, the sharper I become. The goal is to keep narrowing the gap, execute clean weekends, and give ourselves the opportunity to fight further up the field.

Eyes on Phillip Island as Zagame Autosport launches 2026 GTWC Australia campaign

The duo will officially launch their full-season campaign at the Shannons SpeedSeries’ LIQUI MOLY GT Festival at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on 27–29 March.

As anticipation builds, Zagame Autosport combines proven race-winning pedigree with emerging talent. Now, with a full season ahead and factory Ferrari support behind them, the team aims not merely to compete — but to challenge consistently at the front of the Pro-Am field in 2026.
