Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak claimed his maiden F3 victory in spectacular fashion during the 2025 British GP Sprint Race, becoming the first Thai driver to win at this level since Alex Albon in 2016. Starting from pole under the reverse-grid format, the Campos Racing driver led confidently at the start, managed a mid-race challenge from Théophile Naël, and held off a late charge from Martinius Stenshorne to secure a landmark win.

The result was made even sweeter for Campos as Mari Boya joined him on the podium in third after a calculated drive, capitalising on a dramatic scrap ahead of him in the final laps. With one-two finishes elusive throughout the season, this 1–3 marked one of Campos Racing’s strongest showings to date.

Naël’s charge ends in penalty

Théophile Naël had one of the standout drives of the day—recovering from a pre-race stall to take the lead mid-race after passing Inthraphuvasak at Turn 5. However, the move saw him run off track, prompting race control to investigate. Although Naël briefly surrendered the lead later, he was still handed a 10-second post-race penalty for gaining an advantage. That dropped him from P4 to P12 and cost him crucial points in the title battle.

His misfortune promoted Laurens van Hoepen to fourth and elevated Roman Bilinski into the points after the Czech driver charged through from 16th on the grid.

DRS Duels and Team Orders

The F3 Sprint Race at the 2025 British GP was defined by aggressive racing throughout the field. Multiple DRS trains, strategic intra-team instructions—particularly at Trident—and tightly packed battles kept positions in constant flux. Early on, Trident issued team orders to avoid risky manoeuvres among their drivers, especially with championship leader Rafael Câmara fighting through the field.

Elsewhere, Ugo Ugochukwu made a decisive move past PREMA teammate Noel León, while Boya and van Hoepen showcased impressive racecraft with bold overtakes through the high-speed Stowe corner.

Sprint Race shakes up Championship standings

The results of the Sprint Race at the 2025 British GP had a significant impact on the F3 Drivers’ Championship standings. Although Rafael Câmara only managed P8, his consistent points-scoring extended his lead over main rival Tim Tramnitz, who finished outside the top 10.

Meanwhile, Martinius Stenshorne’s P2 finish and fourth podium of the season moved him to 76 points, closing the gap to third-placed Nikola Tsolov, who failed to score. Mari Boya’s P3 vaulted him to 66 points, putting him just four points behind Stenshorne and ahead of Naël, who fell to 12th in the race and 11th in the standings.

Additionally, Inthraphuvasak’s 11-point haul (including fastest lap) catapulted him from the lower midfield to P14 with 33 points—bringing him into contention for a top-ten finish in the Championship.

Looking ahead to the Feature Race

With just four rounds remaining, the F3 title race remains wide open. Câmara holds a comfortable margin at the top, but the battle behind continues to shift each weekend. Tramnitz and Tsolov remain his closest challengers, yet drivers like Stenshorne and Boya are gaining momentum at the right time.

As Feature Race points loom, all eyes will be on whether Inthraphuvasak can build on his historic win—and whether Naël can bounce back from a missed opportunity in his increasingly turbulent campaign.
