The 2026 Euroformula Open season began in emphatic fashion at Portimão, where Rui-Heng Yeh set the tone for the campaign with authority and composure. From the very first competitive sessions, Team Motopark asserted its strength, placing multiple drivers at the sharp end and signalling its intent to dominate.

Initially, Jesse Carrasquedo captured attention by topping both free practice sessions. He adapted quickly to the circuit and extracted strong pace in both cooler morning and warmer afternoon conditions. However, as the weekend progressed, the competitive order evolved. Yeh steadily built momentum, and when it mattered most, he delivered decisive performances that translated into results.

Although de la Torre initially held second, Stack soon applied pressure and completed a decisive overtake to move into the runner-up position. As a result, Motopark secured a dominant 1-2-3 finish. Meanwhile, Carrasquedo ran strongly in fourth, while Famularo emerged as the leading BVM Racing driver in fifth.

Further down the order, incidents and penalties disrupted several drivers. However, none of these developments affected Yeh, who extended his lead lap by lap and crossed the finish line with a comfortable margin. Famularo then maintained his composure and secured an emotional maiden victory, marking a significant moment in his career. Behind him, de la Torre continued his consistent run with another second-place finish, while Stack added further points with third.

A crucial turning point occurred when Stack and Carrasquedo collided while battling for position. This incident removed two key contenders from the fight at the front and allowed Yeh to extend his advantage. Consequently, he controlled the remainder of the race and secured his second victory of the weekend.
