Round 15 of the F1 2026 season has been completed at the Baku City Circuit, view the full Azerbaijan GP race results here.

The starting grid was led by Mercedes, with George Russell on pole ahead of Charles Leclerc and Oscar Piastri. Isack Hadjar, Lando Norris, Lewis Hamilton, Pierre Gasly, Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz and Franco Colapinto completed the top 10. Championship leader Kimi Antonelli faced a recovery drive from 16th after hitting the wall in Qualifying.

Russell had shown strong pace throughout the weekend, topping FP1 and FP2 before Verstappen went fastest in FP3. With Leclerc and Piastri starting close behind and Verstappen further back in eighth, several drivers were in contention at the front, while Antonelli’s starting position opened the door for his championship rivals to potentially cut into his advantage.

The lights went out in Baku, with Russell holding the lead into Turn 1 as Piastri overtook Leclerc for second. Antonelli, meanwhile, dropped to P17 at the start.

Both Aston Martins were the first retirements, with Stroll and Alonso returning to the pits. Antonelli fought his way back into the points, reaching P9 by Lap 23, while Russell led Piastri by almost 10 seconds.

Norris later locked up at Turn 1, allowing Gasly and Antonelli through, before Albon hit the wall and triggered a Safety Car. At the restart, Verstappen passed Piastri for P2, but contact between Colapinto and Gasly sent Gasly into Norris, bringing out another Safety Car and ending the race for all three involved. Russell ones again led thegrid through the restart staying in the lead, as Piastri locked up into turn 1 and losing places falling back to P15, Hadjar now held P3 as Antonelli made his way up to P6.

Ultimately, Russell crossed the line 0.1 seconds ahead of Verstappen to take victory at the Azerbaijan GP, with Hadjar completing the podium.
