The 2026 FIA Formula 2 (F2) Championship has a new leader following Feature Race 1 at the Azerbaijan GP, with Rafael Câmara moving one point ahead of Nikola Tsolov in the standings.
Câmara’s fourth-place finish earned him 12 points and took his total to 182, while Tsolov failed to score after retiring from the race. As a result, the Invicta Racing driver moved ahead of Tsolov and into the Championship lead.
Alex Dunne was another major winner in the standings. The Rodin Motorsport driver converted pole position into victory, collecting 28 points and moving up to 174. He is now just eight points behind Câmara and seven behind Tsolov.
Câmara takes the Championship lead from Tsolov
Câmara entered Feature Race 1 on 170 points, 11 behind Championship leader Tsolov. However, the title rivals experienced contrasting races in Baku. Tsolov’s race was compromised by a slow pit stop before he became one of seven drivers eliminated in a multi-car incident following a Safety Car restart. With no points added to his total, he remained on 181.
Câmara avoided the incident and crossed the line fourth, collecting 12 points. That moved him from 170 to 182 points and from second to first in the Drivers’ Championship, giving him a one-point advantage over Tsolov.
Dunne closes to eight points off the lead
Dunne made another significant gain in the Championship with victory in Feature Race 1. Starting from pole position, the Rodin Motorsport driver controlled the opening phase before making his mandatory stop under the Safety Car. Following the red flag and subsequent restart, he passed Oliver Goethe, who still needed to pit, to reclaim the effective race lead.
Dunne went on to take his first victory of the 2026 season and collect 28 points, moving from 146 to 174. He remains third in the standings but has reduced his deficit to the Championship leader from 24 points to just eight.
Minì loses ground as Beganovic moves closer
Gabriele Minì remains fourth in the Drivers’ Championship after finishing sixth in Feature Race 1. The MP Motorsport driver added eight points to move from 153 to 161, but his deficit to the Championship lead increased from 17 to 21 points.
Dino Beganovic strengthened his position in fifth with another podium. After finishing third, the DAMS Lucas Oil driver added 15 points to move from 116 to 131. That result also allowed Beganovic to extend his advantage over sixth-placed Noel León. León collected 10 points for fifth place, moving from 119 to 129, meaning the gap between the pair increased from one point to two.
Stenshorne jumps to seventh
Martinius Stenshorne made one of the biggest moves in the standings after completing a Rodin Motorsport one-two behind Dunne. The Norwegian collected 18 points for second place, taking him from 75 to 93 points. That moved him from 10th to seventh in the Drivers’ Championship, overtaking Laurens van Hoepen, Kush Maini and Joshua Dürksen.
Dürksen failed to score and remains on 90 points, dropping from seventh to eighth. Maini added one point to move from 89 to 90 but falls from eighth to ninth, level on points with Dürksen. Van Hoepen also failed to score in Feature Race 1 and remains on 80 points. Stenshorne’s rise therefore drops the TRIDENT driver from ninth to 10th.
Changes further down the order
Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak remains 11th on 71 points after failing to score, while Ritomo Miyata stays 12th on 70. Further back, Oliver Goethe made progress after adding six points in Feature Race 1. He moves to 37 points and climbs ahead of Roman Bilinski into 15th in the Championship.
Bilinski also scored, adding six points to reach 35, but Goethe’s larger total means the DAMS driver drops one position to 16th. The rest of the order remains unchanged, with Rafael Villagómez 13th on 42 points and John Bennett 14th on 38. Sebastián Montoya, Emerson Fittipaldi Jr., Colton Herta, Nico Varrone, Mari Boya, Cian Shields and Hiyu Yamakoshi complete the standings.

Câmara therefore leaves Feature Race 1 with the Championship lead by a single point over Tsolov, while Dunne is now only eight points from the top. Stenshorne is the biggest mover inside the top 10, climbing three places to seventh, while Goethe gains a position further down the order.
Rodin closes in on Invicta in Teams’ Championship
Feature Race 1 also produced significant changes in the Teams’ Championship. Campos Racing remains at the top despite scoring only 10 points in the race through León’s fifth-place finish. Tsolov’s retirement meant the team moved from 300 to 310 points.
Invicta Racing remains second, with Câmara’s fourth place providing the team’s only points. The 12-point gain moves Invicta from 260 to 272. Rodin Motorsport made by far the biggest gain, with Dunne and Stenshorne completing a one-two. Their combined 46 points took Rodin from 221 to 267, reducing its deficit to Invicta from 39 points to just five. Rodin also reduced its gap to Championship leader Campos from 79 points to 43.
DAMS moves ahead of ART Grand Prix
DAMS Lucas Oil also gained a position in the Teams’ Championship following strong points finishes for both Beganovic and Bilinski. Beganovic’s third place contributed 15 points, while Bilinski added six with seventh. The resulting 21-point haul moved DAMS from 145 to 166 points.
That was enough to take DAMS past ART Grand Prix and into fifth place. ART added seven points, with Oliver Goethe scoring six and Kush Maini one, moving from 154 to 161. The team consequently drops from fifth to sixth and now trails DAMS by five points. MP Motorsport remains fourth after Minì’s eight points moved the team from 190 to 198.
TRIDENT remains seventh on 118 points after failing to add to its total, while Hitech stays eighth on 96. Van Amersfoort Racing, PREMA Racing and AIX Racing also remain ninth, 10th and 11th respectively.

Campos retains a 38-point advantage at the top of the Teams’ Championship, but the biggest change after Feature Race 1 comes directly behind. Rodin’s one-two has brought the team to within five points of Invicta in the fight for second, while DAMS has overtaken ART Grand Prix for fifth.
With Feature Race 2 still to come in Baku, just eight points cover Câmara, Tsolov and Dunne at the top of the Drivers’ Championship standings as F2 heads into the final race of the Azerbaijan GP.
