After an 83-day wait since the opening round of the 2026 FIA F3 season in Melbourne, the championship finally returned at Monaco, where Théophile Naël topped the timesheets in Free Practice, see the full results below. The session provided many drivers with their first taste of the legendary street circuit, with 17 members of the grid making their Monaco debut.
Early on, it was James Wharton who topped the timesheets, but his stint at the top proved brief. The Australian made contact with the barriers at Turn 14, triggering a red flag and bringing the session to a temporary halt. The marshalls needed to repair the barriers, extending the red flag. Race control then extended the session by 10 minutes due to the barriers being repaired.
Once running resumed, with 28 minutes left on the clock following the 10-minute extension to the original 18 minutes remaining, the field quickly returned to improving their lap times around the iconic street circuit as preparations ramped up for Friday’s crucial Qualifying sessions.
At the conclusion of the session, Campos Racing’s Théophile Naël topped the timings, with Freddie Slater in P2 and Ugo Ugochukwu in P3.
