It’s time to read the results for the second Qualifying session of the Formula E racing weekend, with all drivers on the track in Berlin for the second time today.
Qualifying for Round 7 had seen new championship leader Edoardo Mortara take his fourth pole position at Tempelhof ahead of previous leader Pascal Wehrlein and Oliver Rowland.
Eventually, Nico Mueller took his first ever Formula E race win, leading with over five seconds of advantage on Nick Cassidy and Oliver Rowland.
During the earlier FP3, Ticktum and Mueller had again showcased great potential. However, neither of them managed to make his way to the Duels stage. Cassidy took the top spot, with the entire top 4 within much smaller margins compared to yesterday.
Shockingly, neither Nissan driver managed to advance to the following stage, with Nato returning back to the pits with plenty of time to spare in Group A. Yesterday’s pole sitter Mortara was only 0.022s off the top 4, not advancing as well.
De Vries, just like Mortara in his latest attempt, suffered from oversteer in Group B. Surprisingly, Jaguar’s Mitch Evans will start from the back of the grid, alongside Cupra’s driver duo.
The first driver duel featured two of the youngest talents on the grid, with the Citroën driver duo on next. The latter was an incredibly close duel, with Cassidy advancing by a tenth of a second. Ericsson won his duel against Maloney, advancing for the second session in a row, whereas former Porsche teammates da Costa and Wehrlein faced in the slowest Quarter Final of the day.
The Semi Finals saw a stellar performance from Taylor Barnard and a Turn 1 mistake from Eriksson, which favored Wehrlein.
Ultimately Pascal Wehrlein took pole position following his front row yesterday.
