The final race of the Tokyo E-Prix double header brought chaos and excitement, as the results for Formula E Round 15 are set.

Edoardo Mortara began the nighttime race from pole, for the fourth time in the 2025/2026 season. He bested da Costa and Ticktum with a significant display of speed in Qualifying. Once again, the main championship contenders will start a bit further down the grid, with Evans in a low top ten and Wehrlein, Dennis and Rowland out of the Duels.

An eventful round

Due to the weather conditions, the cars completed the first race lap behind the Safety Car before having a standing start.

At the start, the positions remained the same, with da Costa overtaking Mortara in Lap 5. The Jaguar man developed quite quickly a four seconds lead over Mortara.

Ticktum and Barnard duelled for the third podium position. On Lap 15 Martí made contact with the wall at Turn 17, stopping his on track day.

Barnard had an opportunity to lead the race following his first Attack Mode on lap 22, with Rowland in second ahead of the previously leading driver duo.

Rowland takes the lead as Drugovich is awarded a 5 seconds time penalty.

The second set of Attack Modes reshaped the standings, with de Vries leading from Cassidy and Rowland.

Wehrlein and Evans are much further down the standings due to running the wrong setup, more suitable for wet conditions.

The race was red flagged with two laps to go for a huge car pile up at Turn 8, including several top names such as Eriksson, Ticktum, da Costa, and Mortara. The Mahindra man closed off the road to the Envision Racing man, slamming into him after he spun.

After a break to fix the missing cars, the drivers completed one lap behind the safety car and another in racing mode, with yet another yellow flag issued before the end of the race.
