Brady Golan concluded the 2026 Formula Regional Americas Championship (FRAC) with 298.5 points after the final round at Barber Motorsports Park, securing the Drivers’ Championship by 57 points over Evagoras Papasavvas. The Toney Driver Development driver added another victory to his record during Saturday’s shortened opening race before finishing eighth in Sunday’s finale.
Having already clinched the title during the penultimate round at VIR, Golan arrived at Barber with an insurmountable 53.5-point advantage. His championship lead increased slightly across the final two races, although Cooper Shipman emerged as the highest-scoring driver of the weekend after finishing third in Race 1 and winning the season finale.
Shipman’s 32.5-point haul reduced his deficit to Papasavvas from 26.5 to just seven points, but the Crosslink Motorsports driver retained second in the final standings. Kekai Hauanio remained fourth despite claiming pole position and finishing second in the opener, while Christian Bogle moved ahead of teammate Luke Powers to secure fifth.
The weekend also decided the remaining championship titles. Whitney Strickland secured the Masters Cup despite retiring from Saturday’s opening race, while Toney Driver Development defeated Crosslink Motorsports in the Teams’ Championship, completing a championship double after Golan’s Drivers’ title.
Golan concludes championship-winning season with 298.5 points
Golan entered Barber having already secured the Drivers’ Championship following a decisive weekend at VIR. His 43-point haul during Round 7 had increased his advantage over Papasavvas from 10.5 to 53.5 points, placing the championship beyond his rival’s reach with two races remaining.
The Toney Driver Development driver nevertheless continued his strong form during the final weekend. After qualifying second behind Hauanio, Golan capitalised on a restart in Saturday’s opening race to take the lead at Turn 6. He subsequently held off his Crosslink rival to secure his eighth victory of the campaign by just 0.496 seconds.
However, the race was shortened following an early Safety Car interruption, resulting in half championship points being awarded. Golan therefore collected 12.5 points rather than the usual 25 for victory, increasing his championship total from 282 to 294.5.
Sunday’s finale proved more difficult. Golan started third and initially challenged Shipman for victory, but spun while attempting to overtake the Kiwi Motorsport driver following a Safety Car restart. A subsequent ten-second penalty contributed to his eighth-place finish, adding four further points.
The result brought his final total to 298.5 points, completing the season 57 clear of Papasavvas. Although Golan’s final weekend produced only 16.5 points, his eight victories and consistent performances throughout the championship had already established a decisive advantage.
Papasavvas retains second despite difficult Barber finale
Papasavvas entered the final weekend second in the Drivers’ Championship on 228.5 points, holding a 26.5-point advantage over Shipman. Having lost his championship hopes following a scoreless penultimate round at VIR, the Crosslink driver arrived at Barber aiming to secure the runner-up position and its accompanying $20,000 prize.
His weekend began with an encouraging performance in practice, where he topped Friday afternoon’s session. However, qualifying proved considerably more difficult, with Papasavvas failing to record a lap time and consequently starting Saturday’s opening race from the back of the grid.
He recovered to finish seventh, collecting three championship points under the half-points allocation. His total consequently increased to 231.5, although Shipman’s third place reduced the gap between them.
Papasavvas started Sunday’s finale from second after recording the second-fastest race lap on Saturday, but contact with Golan at Turn 1 dropped him to eighth. He recovered through the field and initially finished second, only to receive a ten-second post-race penalty for a separate incident involving Bogle.
The penalty relegated him to fifth, earning ten points rather than the 18 available for second. Papasavvas therefore completed the championship with 241.5 points, just seven ahead of Shipman.
Despite the difficult conclusion, he retained the Vice Champion position and finished as the highest-ranked rookie in the overall standings.
Shipman reduces deficit to seven points with Barber victory
Shipman produced the strongest points-scoring performance of the final weekend, securing 32.5 points across the two races to finish his rookie campaign third in the Drivers’ Championship.
The Kiwi Motorsport driver arrived at Barber on 202 points, trailing Papasavvas by 26.5 and holding a 15.5-point advantage over Hauanio. His immediate priority was to defend third, although second remained mathematically possible.
Shipman began the weekend by setting the fastest time in Friday’s opening practice session before qualifying third. He maintained that position during Saturday’s race, finishing just 0.972 seconds behind winner Golan and securing 7.5 championship points.
His fastest race lap also earned pole position for Sunday’s finale, providing an opportunity to conclude the season with another victory.
Shipman converted pole into the lead and remained in control throughout the race, successfully defending against Golan after a Safety Car restart. His third victory of 2026 earned the full 25 points, bringing his championship total to 234.5.
The result reduced his deficit to Papasavvas from 26.5 to seven points, although the Crosslink driver ultimately retained second. Shipman consequently secured third in the championship and the accompanying $10,000 prize.
His final weekend also extended his advantage over Hauanio to 39 points, ensuring that the Kiwi Motorsport driver concluded his first FRAC campaign comfortably inside the championship’s top three.
Hauanio remains fourth despite pole and podium
Hauanio entered Barber fourth in the standings with 186.5 points, just 15.5 behind Shipman following an impressive penultimate weekend at VIR.
The Crosslink Motorsport rookie continued his competitive form during qualifying, securing his first pole position of the season with a 1:19.584. He subsequently led the opening four laps of Saturday’s race before Golan completed the decisive overtake following a restart.
Hauanio remained close to the champion throughout the remaining laps but could not recover the lead, eventually finishing second by 0.496 seconds. The result secured nine points under the half-points allocation, increasing his championship total to 195.5.
However, his hopes of challenging Shipman for third suffered a significant setback during Sunday’s finale. After starting fifth, Hauanio moved into podium contention during the opening stages but retired after completing nine laps.
The non-score left him on 195.5 points, 39 behind Shipman and 19 behind fifth-placed Bogle.
Although his final position remained unchanged, Hauanio concluded his rookie campaign with three victories and nine podium finishes. His strong performances during the second half of the season had established him among the leading drivers, but the Barber retirement prevented him from improving his final championship classification.
Bogle overtakes Powers to secure fifth in final standings
One of the closest remaining championship battles entering Barber involved Toney Driver Development teammates Powers and Bogle, who were separated by just half a point.
Powers arrived fifth on 153 points, having moved ahead of Bogle during the previous round at VIR. Bogle followed on 152.5, leaving their final positions dependent on the results of the last two races.
Saturday’s shortened opener slightly favoured Bogle, who finished fourth and collected six points. Powers followed in sixth, adding four, which allowed Bogle to move ahead in the championship standings.
The gap widened further during Sunday’s finale. Bogle recovered from sixth on the grid to finish third on the road before Papasavvas’ post-race penalty promoted him to second. The result earned 18 points and equalled his career-best FRAC finish.
Powers also benefited from the penalty, moving from fourth to third and collecting 15 points. His result secured a sixth podium appearance of the season, but it was insufficient to recover the championship position.
Bogle therefore finished fifth overall on 176.5 points, having scored 24 during the Barber weekend. Powers completed the top six on 172 after collecting 19 points, leaving a final gap of 4.5.
Both drivers also contributed significantly to Toney Driver Development’s Teams’ Championship success, particularly during Sunday’s decisive finale.
Dass holds seventh as Bobadilla matches his Barber points haul
The battle for seventh between Kiwi Motorsport’s Harbir Dass and Crosslink Motorsports’ Alejandro Bobadilla remained closely contested throughout the final weekend.
Dass arrived at Barber with 108 points, holding a three-point advantage over Bobadilla. Both drivers had demonstrated consistent progress during the season, with their championship battle becoming increasingly close during the preceding rounds.
The Kiwi Motorsport driver qualified fourth for Saturday’s opening race and maintained a competitive position throughout the contest, finishing fifth and collecting five points. Bobadilla finished ninth, earning one point and temporarily increasing Dass’ advantage.
However, Bobadilla produced a stronger result during Sunday’s finale, moving from ninth on the grid to fourth after the post-race penalties were applied. His finish earned 12 points, while Dass secured another eight for sixth.
The two drivers consequently collected identical 13-point totals across the weekend, leaving their championship gap unchanged.
Dass finished seventh overall on 121 points, with Bobadilla eighth on 118. Although Bobadilla ended the season with a stronger final race, Dass’ results earlier in the campaign proved sufficient to maintain his championship position.
Schuh, Lawley and Wisniewski complete top 11
Aidan Schuh retained ninth in the final Drivers’ Championship standings after a comparatively difficult conclusion to his rookie campaign.
The Crosslink driver arrived at Barber on 91 points, having climbed into the top nine following his maiden FRAC podium at VIR. However, he was unable to replicate that performance during the season finale.
Schuh finished eighth in Saturday’s opening race, collecting two points under the reduced allocation. Sunday’s contest proved less successful, with an 11th-place finish leaving him outside the points.
He therefore completed the season on 93 points, retaining ninth and finishing 20.5 ahead of Atlantic Racing Team’s James Lawley.
Lawley returned to the championship after missing VIR and collected half a point for tenth in Saturday’s race. He added another point for tenth on Sunday, bringing his final championship total to 72.5 and securing tenth overall.
Eric Wisniewski also improved his points total during the finale. The Hillenburg Motorsports rookie failed to score on Saturday but finished seventh on Sunday, collecting six points to increase his total from 46 to 52.
Wisniewski remained 11th, having reduced his deficit to Lawley from 25 points after VIR to 20.5 at the end of the season.
Janzen adds overall points as lower standings remain unchanged
Further down the Drivers’ Championship classification, several positions remained unchanged following the final two races.
Barrett Wolfe finished 12th on 30 points, having not competed during the final events. Masters Cup champion Strickland remained 13th overall on 19, with his early retirement on Saturday and 13th-place finish on Sunday producing no additional overall championship points.
Janzen, meanwhile, increased his Drivers’ Championship total from 15.5 to 17.5 points. He finished 13th in Saturday’s opener before taking ninth in Sunday’s finale, earning two overall points and retaining 14th.
Aiden Zelaya remained 15th with eight points, while Anthony Autiello finished 16th on seven. Jonathan Cottrill and Robert Arana Jr completed the season tied on six points in 17th and 18th respectively, with Cottrill ranked ahead in the official standings.
Jake Pollack completed the classified championship order in 19th, remaining without points after his appearances earlier in the season.

Bogle made the only positional change among the leading six, moving ahead of Powers to secure fifth. Dass and Bobadilla remained separated by three points, while Schuh, Lawley and Wisniewski completed the top 11 without changing positions.
Strickland secures Masters Cup despite Barber retirement
Strickland entered Barber leading the Masters Cup on 141 points, holding a 16.5-point advantage over Janzen with 24 points available across the final two races.
The championship initially appeared capable of producing a dramatic conclusion when Strickland retired following an opening-lap incident in Saturday’s race. Janzen remained in contention for the class victory, but was eventually overtaken by Autiello, who claimed his fourth Masters win of the season.
Janzen finished second, collecting 4.5 points because of the half-points allocation, while Autiello earned six. With the opening race awarding reduced points, Strickland’s remaining advantage was sufficient to secure the championship before Sunday’s finale.
Janzen nevertheless concluded the season strongly, winning the Masters classification in Race 2 and collecting another 12 points. His final weekend haul of 16.5 points increased his championship total from 124.5 to 141.
Strickland returned for Sunday’s race and finished third in class, collecting seven points to increase his total from 141 to 148. The result confirmed a final championship-winning margin of seven points.
Although Janzen reduced the gap significantly, Strickland’s consistency earlier in the season ultimately proved decisive.
Autiello finishes third after strong Barber weekend
Autiello entered Barber third in the Masters Cup on 91 points, already mathematically unable to challenge the leading pair.
However, the Momentum Motorsports driver enjoyed a successful final weekend, securing victory in Saturday’s opener before finishing second in Sunday’s finale.
His results earned 15 points, increasing his total to 106. Although he remained 35 behind Janzen, the performance represented a positive conclusion to his campaign and included another Masters race victory.
The final championship order therefore remained unchanged from VIR, with Strickland taking the title, Janzen finishing runner-up and Autiello completing the podium.
However, the gap between the leading two narrowed considerably, falling from 16.5 points before Barber to seven at the conclusion of the season.

Toney Driver Development secures FRAC Teams’ Championship
Toney Driver Development entered Barber leading the Teams’ Championship with 538 points, just 14 ahead of Crosslink Motorsports.
The two organisations had remained closely matched throughout the season, recording eight victories each before the final weekend. Their championship battle also remained unchanged at VIR, where both teams accumulated identical 70-point totals.
However, Barber finally created the decisive separation.
Toney collected 18.5 points during Saturday’s shortened race, primarily through Golan’s victory and Bogle’s fourth place. Crosslink scored 12 from Hauanio’s second place and Papasavvas’ seventh-place recovery, increasing Toney’s championship advantage.
The gap widened substantially during Sunday’s finale. Although Golan finished eighth after his spin and penalty, Bogle and Powers secured second and third, collecting a combined 33 team points.
Crosslink, meanwhile, suffered Hauanio’s retirement and Papasavvas’ post-race penalty. Bobadilla’s fourth place earned 12 points, while Papasavvas added ten for fifth, giving the team 22.
Toney consequently scored 51.5 points across the weekend, compared with Crosslink’s 34. Its championship total increased to 589.5, while Crosslink finished second on 558.
The final gap of 31.5 points represented an increase of 17.5 from the advantage Toney held after VIR, confirming the organisation’s Teams’ Championship success and completing a double alongside Golan’s Drivers’ title.
Kiwi Motorsport finishes third after strong final weekend
Kiwi Motorsport retained third in the Teams’ Championship following a successful Barber weekend led by Shipman’s victory in Sunday’s finale.
The team entered the event with 312 points after collecting 24 during the preceding round at VIR. Shipman’s third place and Dass’ fifth in Saturday’s opener earned a combined 12.5 points under the reduced allocation.
The pair subsequently added 33 points on Sunday, with Shipman collecting 25 for victory and Dass earning eight for sixth.
Kiwi therefore scored 45.5 points across the weekend, increasing its final total to 357.5. Although that remained 200.5 behind Crosslink, the result comfortably secured third in the Teams’ Championship.
The final weekend also reinforced the progress made by the organisation’s two FRAC rookies, particularly Shipman, who concluded the season with three victories and third in the Drivers’ Championship.
Atlantic and Hillenburg complete top five in Teams’ Championship
Atlantic Racing Team retained fourth in the Teams’ standings after adding 1.5 points across the final weekend.

Momentum Motorsports remained seventh on seven points, while MLT Motorsports completed the eight-team classification on six.
The final positions remained unchanged throughout the field, although Toney and Kiwi both strengthened their respective championship advantages during the concluding weekend.

Barber settles final championship positions as Golan completes title-winning campaign
The 2026 FRAC season concludes with Golan as Drivers’ Champion, having accumulated 298.5 points across a campaign featuring eight victories. His 57-point advantage over Papasavvas reflects the consistency that allowed him to secure the title before the final round, although his rivals continued reducing the gaps among themselves at Barber.
Papasavvas retained second despite a difficult weekend, while Shipman’s victory in the finale reduced their final separation to seven points. Hauanio finished fourth after an impressive rookie campaign, with Bogle moving ahead of Powers in the only positional change among the leading six drivers.
The Masters Cup also reached its conclusion, with Strickland finishing seven points ahead of Janzen following a dramatic weekend in which the championship was secured despite an early retirement. Autiello completed the top three after collecting another class victory.
Toney Driver Development’s Teams’ Championship triumph provided the final major result of the season. Having already secured the Drivers’ title through Golan, the organisation successfully defended its championship advantage against Crosslink, ultimately winning by 31.5 points.
The Barber finale therefore completed a competitive 2026 championship in which the Drivers’ title was decided at VIR but the remaining honours continued into the final event. With all 21 scheduled rounds accounted for, including the cancellation of Round 6 because of weather, the official classification confirms the final order following 20 completed races.
