Rowan Campbell-Pilling has been promoted to his maiden GB3 Championship podium after post-race penalties amended the 2026 Race 3 result at the Hungaroring.
The Xcel Motorsport driver originally finished fourth on the road, but moved up to third after Rodin Motorsport’s Maxim Rehm received a one-place penalty. Race Control determined that the German had operated his car’s DRS system before completing a full lap after a Safety Car restart, while also overtaking another driver.
Rehm drops from podium after DRS breach
Rehm had crossed the line third after passing Campbell-Pilling at Turn 1 on the final lap of the reverse-grid race.
However, the Stewards later determined that the German had used DRS too early after the Safety Car restart. As a result, they handed him a one-place position penalty, dropping him from third to fourth.
That promoted Campbell-Pilling to third, giving the Briton his first GB3 podium after his strongest result of the season so far.
Micallef promoted after Vinci penalty
Dante Vinci also received a one-place penalty after the Stewards found that he had crowded another car off the road at the start of the race.
The Hillspeed driver therefore drops from sixth to seventh in the revised classification. Hitech debutant Jacob Micallef moves up to sixth as a result, adding another strong finish to his first GB3 weekend.
Fairclough and Nobels receive grid penalties
Deagen Fairclough and Aurelia Nobels have also been handed three-place grid penalties for their next GB3 race.
Fairclough’s penalty follows his opening-lap incident with Rehm and Abbi Pulling, which ended his race on the spot and also forced Pulling into retirement. Nobels received her penalty for a separate incident involving Hillspeed team-mate Peter Bouzinelos, who was left stranded at Turn 1.
