Deagen Fairclough claimed his second GB3 Championship victory of the 2026 Silverstone weekend after controlling Race 2 from pole position and resisting sustained pressure from Rowan Campbell-Pilling.

The Hitech driver repeated the excellent start that helped him win Race 1, immediately establishing himself at the front before Campbell-Pilling and Lucas Fluxa settled into pursuit. Although Campbell-Pilling remained within DRS range for much of the contest, Fairclough kept the Xcel Motorsport driver just far enough behind and won by 0.969s.

Fluxa completed the podium in third to recover from his Race 1 collision with Maxim Rehm, while Martin Molnar finished fourth ahead of championship leader Nikita Bedrin.

Fairclough leads as Xcel pair apply pressure

Fairclough started from pole for the second time during the Silverstone weekend after setting a 1m49.714s in the second Qualifying session. Campbell-Pilling joined him on the front row after appearing on course for pole for much of the session, only for Fairclough to move 0.141s ahead at the final opportunity.

Fluxa started third in the second Xcel Motorsport car, with Molnar alongside him on row two. Patricio Gonzalez and Bedrin followed on row three, while Abbi Pulling lined up seventh. Rehm started eighth after carrying a grid penalty from his Race 1 incident with Fluxa, with Leon Wilson and Jacob Micallef completing the top 10.

When the race began, Fairclough once again produced an excellent launch. The Hitech driver immediately created enough separation to lead comfortably through Copse, while Campbell-Pilling retained second and brought teammate Fluxa with him as the leading trio began to pull away from the rest of the field.

Campbell-Pilling remains in Fairclough’s DRS range

Fairclough could not break completely free during the opening laps, as Campbell-Pilling quickly settled into a rhythm and remained within DRS range of the leader. Fluxa stayed close behind his teammate, leaving the three drivers separated by relatively small margins as the race developed.

Campbell-Pilling repeatedly kept Fairclough within sight but never moved close enough to launch a serious attack. The Hitech driver managed the gap carefully, ensuring his rival could not use DRS to draw alongside on the circuit’s main overtaking opportunities while avoiding the mistakes that could have opened the door.

The battle contrasted with Fairclough’s more eventful Race 1 victory, when Molnar briefly took the lead following an early Safety Car restart before the Hitech driver fought back at Vale. In Race 2, Fairclough never surrendered first place and instead concentrated on controlling Campbell-Pilling throughout the 14-lap contest.

Fluxa returns to the podium after Race 1 disappointment

Fluxa completed a strong opening phase for Xcel Motorsport by remaining with Campbell-Pilling and Fairclough. The Spaniard entered Race 2 looking to recover from a difficult Saturday after contact with Rehm sent him spinning during their battle at Brooklands.

This time, Fluxa avoided similar trouble and maintained third position. Although he stayed close enough to keep Campbell-Pilling under pressure, he could not find an opportunity to challenge his teammate and gradually settled into the final podium place.

Third gave Fluxa his first podium of the Silverstone weekend and his fifth from the previous seven races. The result also ensured Xcel Motorsport placed two cars on the podium, with Campbell-Pilling adding second to the third place he secured in Race 1.

Molnar falls back after challenging Campbell-Pilling

Molnar made a strong start from fourth and briefly moved into third during the opening exchanges. After finishing second in Race 1, the Rodin Motorsport driver again placed himself among the main podium contenders and initially challenged Campbell-Pilling for second.

However, Fluxa soon reclaimed third and pushed Molnar back to fourth. Once the leading Xcel pair established themselves behind Fairclough, Molnar could not maintain the same pace and instead turned his attention towards defending from Bedrin.

The Hungarian retained fourth despite the championship leader spending much of the race directly behind him. Meanwhile, Bedrin repeatedly remained close enough to threaten a move, but Molnar positioned his car effectively and denied him a clear opportunity to attack.

Bedrin unable to find a way past Molnar

Bedrin started sixth after finishing outside the podium positions in Race 1 for the first time in an opening race this season. The VRD Racing driver immediately looked to make progress and battled teammate Gonzalez along the Wellington Straight during the early stages.

Once ahead of Gonzalez, Bedrin moved onto Molnar’s rear wing and remained there for much of the contest. He showed the Rodin driver his car on several occasions and feinted towards the inside, but he could not get sufficiently alongside to complete an overtake.

Bedrin’s challenge faded further during the closing two laps after he received a black-and-white flag for track limits. Molnar therefore secured fourth, 4.284s behind Fairclough, while Bedrin crossed the line another 0.676s back in fifth.

The result means Bedrin has now missed the podium in both of the opening two Silverstone races. Nevertheless, fifth provided useful championship points as he continued to defend his lead in the standings.

Rehm recovers to sixth after grid penalty

Rehm faced a more difficult starting position after receiving a penalty following his Race 1 clash with Fluxa. Despite starting eighth, the Rodin driver quickly began recovering ground and moved himself back towards the leading group.

He eventually climbed to sixth and closed onto Bedrin as the race entered its closing stages. With Bedrin already pressuring Molnar ahead, the three drivers formed a closely matched group in the fight for fourth, fifth and sixth.

Rehm could not find a way past the championship leader before the chequered flag, but his recovery limited the damage from his starting position. He finished only 0.897s behind Bedrin and almost four seconds clear of Gonzalez in seventh.

Wilson adds another strong Silverstone result

Gonzalez settled for seventh after losing ground during his early fight with Bedrin. The VRD Racing driver remained clear of Wilson but could not close back onto Rehm and the group ahead, eventually finishing 10.205s behind Fairclough.

Wilson followed in eighth and continued a consistent Silverstone weekend for Arden Motorsport. After finishing seventh in Race 1, he added another top-10 result and crossed the line less than two seconds behind Gonzalez.

Elite Motorsport’s Flynn Jackes made significant progress from 13th on the grid to finish ninth. The Race 3 contender moved ahead of several drivers during the race and finished just 0.863s behind Wilson, while Pulling completed the top 10 for Rodin Motorsport.

Micallef finished 11th for Hitech ahead of Edu Robinson and Kyuho Lee. Jack Taylor took 14th, with Dante Vinci, Aurelia Nobels and Jason Pribyl following.

Fairclough holds Campbell-Pilling to complete the double

At the front, Campbell-Pilling continued to ensure Fairclough could not relax during the final laps. The Xcel driver remained close enough to benefit from DRS but never reached a position from which he could seriously challenge for first.

Fairclough continued to manage the margin and entered the final lap with enough breathing room to protect the lead. He ultimately crossed the line after 14 laps with a 0.969s advantage, completing his second victory of the Silverstone weekend after his closely fought Race 1 success.

Campbell-Pilling secured second for his second podium in as many races, improving on his third place from Saturday. Fluxa followed only 0.603s behind his teammate to complete the podium and give Xcel Motorsport two cars inside the top three.

Molnar retained fourth ahead of Bedrin and Rehm, while Gonzalez, Wilson, Jackes and Pulling completed the top 10. Fairclough’s victory continued a perfect start to his Silverstone weekend, with two poles and two victories from the opening two races.
