Alex O’Grady put KMR Sport on top as 2026 GB4 pre-event testing began at Donington Park on Thursday. The Irish contender delivered the day’s fastest lap in the opening session, posting a 1:29.769 around the 2.487-mile Grand Prix circuit. That effort placed him just 0.007s clear of Hillspeed’s Enzo Hallman, who produced his best time late in the final session.
O’Grady’s early benchmark proved decisive on the combined order, despite Fred Green and Hallman leading the remaining three sessions. Green completed the top three for Elite Motorsport, only 0.048s away from the outright pace.
Green leads the middle sessions as Hallman strikes late
O’Grady opened the day fastest, edging Green by 0.116s in session one. Fortec Motorsports’ Thomas Ingram Hill followed in third, while Pace Performance’s Torrin Byrne and rookie Franciszek Cegielski completed the top five.
Green then moved to the front before lunch with a 1:29.817, beating Hallman by 0.205s. The championship leader remained quickest in session three with a 1:30.248, this time finishing 0.093s ahead of Byrne.
However, Hallman produced the strongest challenge to O’Grady’s benchmark during the final session. His 1:29.776 secured second overall, while Ingram Hill and O’Grady followed in the session order.
Cegielski heads the rookies as top 14 stay close
Ingram Hill completed the combined top four with a 1:29.953, while Nitrous Competition ADM Racing’s Luke Hilton took fifth. Byrne followed in sixth, 0.380s away from O’Grady’s benchmark.
Cegielski placed seventh overall and led the rookie runners with a 1:30.185. Hillspeed’s Connor Willis secured eighth ahead of Douglas Motorsport’s Dayton Coulthard and Pace Performance’s John O’Donnell.
The top 10 finished within 0.651s of O’Grady, while the leading 14 drivers all lapped within one second of the outright pace. Testing resumes on Friday with four further 30-minute sessions.
