Luke Hilton claimed his second GB4 Championship victory of the 2026 season after opening-lap contact between Thomas Ingram Hill and Fred Green transformed Race 1 at Silverstone.
The Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing driver started third but inherited the lead when the front-row pair collided at Maggotts. Hilton immediately established a commanding advantage and resisted Conor Grant’s late pressure to add a Silverstone triumph to his Donington Park victory.
Grant crossed the line second but dropped behind championship leader Alex O’Grady after receiving a track-limits penalty.
Front-row contact changes the race
Ingram Hill started from his maiden pole position, with Green alongside him following the Elite Motorsport driver’s strong Qualifying performance. However, their challenge unravelled during the opening lap when the pair made contact at Maggotts.
The incident damaged Ingram Hill’s Fortec Motorsport car and forced him into the pits. Green continued without his front wing for another two laps before stopping for repairs, ending any realistic hope of scoring points.
Hilton avoided the trouble and swept into the lead. With the drivers behind also battling for position, he completed the first lap more than two seconds clear of the chasing pack.
Hilton controls the race from the front
Hilton used his early advantage to control the pace through the middle stages. The British driver maintained a comfortable margin while Grant worked his way into second and began reducing the deficit.
Grant had started fifth but gained two positions during the opening-lap drama before emerging as Hilton’s closest challenger. The Douglas Motorsport driver gradually closed to within one second as the race entered its final stages.
However, Hilton kept the Irishman behind and completed the 10-lap contest with enough margin to secure his second victory of the campaign. The result continued his strong run after he also won the opening Donington Park race.
Grant penalty promotes O’Grady
Grant crossed the line in second after producing his strongest GB4 performance to date. However, officials handed him a track-limits penalty, which increased his race time and dropped him to third in the provisional classification.
O’Grady therefore inherited second place after another measured performance for KMR Sport. The championship leader started fourth and remained clear of the opening-lap incidents before securing another major points haul.
With Green failing to score, O’Grady extended his championship advantage to 32 points over Hilton. Enzo Hallman sits third, only three points behind Hilton, while Green has fallen to fourth and trails Hallman by another five points.
McLean records strongest main-race result
Josh McLean joined the fight near the front after making progress from eighth on the grid during the opening lap. The Pace Performance driver briefly challenged among the podium contenders before settling into fourth.
Although he could not remain with the leading trio, McLean secured his strongest result in one of GB4’s two main races and collected valuable points for Pace Performance.
Emmilio Valentino Del Grosso followed in fifth for Elite Motorsport after avoiding the incidents that affected his teammate. He finished less than half a second behind McLean at the chequered flag.
Hallman penalty reshuffles midfield order
Hallman initially crossed the line sixth for Hillspeed, but a track-limits penalty dropped the championship contender to 11th in the final order.
That promoted Douglas Motorsport’s Dayton Coulthard to sixth and gave the team two cars inside the top six. Fortec’s Franciszek Cegielski advanced to seventh, while Hillspeed’s Connor Willis inherited eighth.
John O’Donnell placed ninth for Pace Performance, with Elite’s Matan Achituv completing the top 10. Jordyn Martin finished 12th ahead of Arden Motorsport’s Michael Koh and Scorpio Motorsport’s Romuald Bocquet.
Byrne retires on opening lap
Torrin Byrne recorded the race’s only retirement after failing to complete the opening lap for Pace Performance.
Green and Ingram Hill both returned to the circuit after repairs but finished well down the order. Green classified 23rd, while polesitter Ingram Hill ended the race 27th and more than one minute behind Hilton.
Faris Organji finished one lap down in 28th after making his GB4 debut with Scorpio Motorsport.
