Dayton Coulthard delivered a decisive performance to claim victory in the final 2026 GB4 race of the weekend at Silverstone. Although Romuald Bocquet crossed the finish line first, officials penalised him for a jump start, which ultimately reshaped the final classification. As a result, Coulthard inherited the win after a fiercely contested race that featured multiple interruptions and strategic restarts.

Bocquet dominates early at Silverstone but falters at restart

At the outset, Bocquet controlled the race with authority. He executed a strong initial launch and steadily built a comfortable advantage. However, the contest took a dramatic turn when a red flag halted proceedings following Holly Miall’s off at Club.

After the restart, Bocquet again led into Copse. Nevertheless, he reacted prematurely to the lights and committed a jump start. Although he retained track position and crossed the line first, the stewards applied a time penalty that dropped him down to 16th place.

Meanwhile, Coulthard maintained pressure throughout the race and remained within striking distance. A late safety car intervention then set up a one-lap sprint to the finish, intensifying the drama.

Coulthard immediately attacked Matan Achituv, engaging in a wheel-to-wheel fight over several corners. He completed the move decisively and secured a crucial position. Consequently, when Bocquet’s penalty came into effect, Coulthard moved into the lead and clinched his second GB4 victory, following his earlier success at Donington Park.

Achituv held on to second place with a composed drive, while Archie Davies secured third for Scorpio Motorsport. In addition, Jason Smyth produced a strong showing to finish fourth, just ahead of Emmilio Valentino Del Grosso in fifth. Enzo Hallman claimed sixth, while Charlie Myers led the rookie contingent in seventh.

A race defined by precision and timing

Ultimately, the race underlined the importance of discipline under pressure. Bocquet demonstrated outstanding pace but lost victory due to a critical misjudgement. In contrast, Coulthard combined persistence with precision, capitalising on late-race drama to secure a memorable win at Silverstone.
