The 2026 GT World Challenge (GTWC) America powered by AWS season reached its fourth round at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, where mixed conditions, tyre strategy and further mechanical setbacks reshaped several championship battles.
JMF Motorsports continues to lead the Pro standings through Michai Stephens and Mikael Grenier. However, AF Corse USA has closed significantly after Matias Perez Companc and Frederik Schandorff converted the team’s first overall pole of the season into its first Pro victory.
Meanwhile, GMG Racing has maintained control of Pro-Am despite JMF Motorsports taking the overall Road Atlanta victory, while AF Corse USA remains unbeaten in Am. Mercedes-AMG has also strengthened its Manufacturers’ Championship lead after another successful weekend for the marque.
2026 GTWC America: Standings after Round 4 (Road Atlanta): Pro: JMF Motorsports retains lead as AF Corse USA closes
Michai Stephens and Mikael Grenier remain at the top of the Pro Drivers’ Championship with 78 points. The JMF Motorsports pairing led during the opening phase at Road Atlanta and remained in contention throughout the changing conditions.
However, their race was complicated by two post-race penalties. Officials added 1.27 seconds for a short pit stop and a further five seconds for improper pit procedures. Schandorff had already passed Grenier on track before the penalties were applied, securing AF Corse USA’s first Pro victory of the campaign alongside Perez Companc.
Schandorff and Perez Companc have consequently moved into second with 70 points, only eight behind the championship leaders. Their 25-point Road Atlanta result also moved them ahead of Sebring winners Justin Rothberg and Robby Foley.
Rothberg and Foley sit third with 67 points after Turner Motorsport suffered another mechanical setback. Foley stopped at the side of the circuit with one hour and 11 minutes remaining because of a fuel-line-related failure, ending the BMW’s challenge after 81 laps. Nevertheless, the team collected 12 points and remains only 11 behind the championship lead.
Alex Sedgwick and Cameron Lawrence hold fourth with 53 points. Dollahite Racing briefly led the race after making an early switch to slick tyres, but the No. 6 Ford Mustang GT3 lost power shortly after the first driver change and retired while leading.
Michael McCann Jr. and Zachary Vanier are now only one point further back on 52 after claiming their first Pro podium of the season. The McCann Racing pairing therefore remains within reach of both Dollahite Racing and Turner Motorsport.
In the Teams’ Championship, JMF Motorsports leads with 78 points. AF Corse USA has moved into second on 70, while Turner Motorsport follows closely with 67. Dollahite Racing and McCann Racing complete the five-team order with only one point separating them.

2026 GTWC America: Standings after Round 4 (Road Atlanta): Pro-Am: GMG Racing maintains advantage despite JMF victory
Kyle Washington and Tom Sargent continue to lead the Pro-Am Drivers’ Championship with 77 points. The GMG Racing pairing recovered from a 5.34-second short-pit-stop penalty to finish third in class and fourth overall at Road Atlanta.
Sargent also recorded the fastest lap of the race with a 1:20.277. Their recovery limited the damage to their championship advantage, although the gap at the front has narrowed slightly.
Dave Musial Jr. and Ryan Yardley remain second with 65 points after finishing fifth in Pro-Am for Wright Motorsports. They now sit 12 points behind Washington and Sargent with three rounds remaining.
Jan Heylen and JP Martinez hold third with 48 points. However, RS1 endured a difficult Road Atlanta race after contact involving the No. 28 Porsche during the first Full Course Yellow sequence. The team scored only two championship points and has lost ground to the leading pairings.
Jason Daskalos has climbed to fourth with 42 points after claiming the overall and Pro-Am victory for JMF Motorsports. Daskalos moved into the class lead during the opening stint before handing the No. 27 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO to Philip Ellis.
Ellis then managed the tyres effectively and launched a decisive late charge. He passed the AF Corse USA Pro Ferrari and the sister JMF Mercedes to take the overall lead, eventually winning by 2.525 seconds. Ellis enters the standings separately in seventh with 25 points following his one-off regular-season appearance.

Championship battles tighten before the summer break
After Round 4 at Road Atlanta, JMF Motorsports continues to lead the Pro championship, but the advantage is far from secure. AF Corse USA now sits only eight points behind after its breakthrough victory, while Turner Motorsport remains within 11 points despite its retirement.
GMG Racing maintains a stronger advantage in Pro-Am, although Wright Motorsports continues to apply pressure. JMF Motorsports has also emerged as a growing threat after Daskalos and Ellis became the first Pro-Am pairing to claim an overall victory at Road Atlanta this season.
Meanwhile, AF Corse USA remains in complete control of Am, and Mercedes-AMG has created a more comfortable Manufacturers’ Championship advantage following JMF Motorsports’ successful weekend.
Road Atlanta once again demonstrated how quickly endurance-racing championships can change. Early tyre decisions elevated Dollahite Racing into the lead, mechanical trouble eliminated two Pro contenders, and Ellis’ late charge transformed the overall result. The field will now enter its summer break before returning for Round 5 at Road America from 28–30 August 2026.
