Qualifying for rounds 11 and 12 of the 2026 Indy NXT by Firestone season have been completed at Mid-Ohio, view the full results here.
Enzo Fittipaldi, 3rd in points coming into this weekend, laid down a huge marker. The Brazilian driver was fastest in Group 2 to take pole position for both races as his two quickest times got the job done ahead of Race 1 later, and Race 2 on Sunday.
A 1:09.369 was 0.14s clear of HMD teammate Jack Beeton. Points leader Nikita Johnson, Hughes and Garcia rounded out the top 5.
In Group 1, a 1:09.593 from Salvador de Alba saw him top the times, ahead of stablemate and championship contender Tymek Kucharczyk. That meant it was a 1-2-3-4 on the grid for HMD Motorsports for the opening contest.
For the first time since St. Pete, Alessandro de Tullio failed to make the front row. However, he set the best second lap in Group 1, meaning he will join Fittipaldi on the front row for Sunday’s contest.
Andretti did not have a great time of it. None of their cars made the top 5 on either grid, with Hughes (P7) and Pierson (P6) their best starters across the two events.
There will be tonnes of work for Myles Rowe to do as he starts from 23rd in both races.
