Qualifying for round 13 of the 2026 IndyCar season at Portland has been completed, view the full results here.
In first practice, championship leader Alex Palou was fastest on the primary tyre, an unusual occurrence in the series. Kyle Kirkwood was the quickest driver on reds, finishing up 2nd overall. Rinus VeeKay and Louis Foster impressed with top five appearances.
Earlier today in second practice, Marcus Armstrong finished on top as he was the only driver to run a set of reds. Once again Alex Palou was the quickest on blacks, narrowly outpacing teammate Scott Dixon. Rosenqvist and Malukas rounded out the top 5 as MSR and CGR looked incredibly strong.
Heading into qualifying, the #10 led the #12 by 83 points in the championship, with Malukas facing a six-place grid penalty for an unapproved engine change to make life even harder. Kyle Kirkwood is a further four points behind his fellow American.
