Bosch has extended its partnership with the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the 2026–2027 seasons. As a result, the company will continue to serve as both a Premium Partner and Technical Partner, reinforcing its long-standing involvement in top-level endurance racing.
Moreover, this agreement highlights Bosch’s sustained focus on innovation and its dedication to advancing motorsport technologies. The collaboration with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) remains central to shaping the future direction of endurance racing at the highest level.
At the same time, the extension sends a strong message about the continued relevance of WEC as a global platform for cutting-edge automotive development.
Bosch driving innovation in the WEC Hypercar era
Bosch plays a crucial role in the Hypercar category, where it supplies essential components for the standardised hybrid system used by all manufacturers. Specifically, Bosch Motorsport provides the electric motor (MGU), inverter and hybrid control unit.
Consequently, these components ensure a balance of performance, efficiency and cost control across the grid, which remains vital in maintaining competitive racing. Furthermore, Bosch’s involvement helps teams focus on innovation in other areas while relying on proven hybrid architecture.
In addition, the partnership allows Bosch to maintain a strong presence across WEC events and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This includes brand visibility, on-site engagement and digital storytelling, all of which reinforce its influence within the motorsport ecosystem.
Pierre Fillon, President of the ACO, stressed Bosch’s foundational role in the Hypercar era. He pointed to the company’s engineering expertise as a key factor in creating a balanced and sustainable competitive framework. Additionally, he noted that the extension reflects confidence from major industrial partners in the championship’s direction.
He stated: “Bosch is much more than a partner — they are a cornerstone of the Hypercar era. Their engineering expertise, particularly in hybrid technology, has been instrumental in shaping a competitive, efficient and cost-controlled framework that benefits the entire grid. Renewing this partnership for 2026 and 2027 is a natural step, and a strong signal that the most innovative industrial players see FIA WEC and the 24 Hours of Le Mans as the ultimate arena to demonstrate what technology can achieve.”
Leadership perspectives on the renewal
Ingo Mauel, Head of Bosch Motorsport, emphasised the importance of continuity and innovation within the partnership. He highlighted how WEC provides an ideal environment for developing future technologies while also strengthening collaboration across the industry.
He said: “We are delighted to continue our successful partnership with the FIA World Endurance Championship for the 2026 and 2027 seasons. This collaboration is driven by our deep passion for developing pioneering technologies and underlines our shared ambition with FIA WEC and the ACO to shape the future of endurance racing. The championship is the ultimate proving-ground for our advanced hybrid systems, allowing us to push the boundaries of performance and efficiency under the most demanding conditions. We are proud to continue transferring this pioneering spirit from the racetrack to the road.”
Furthermore, Frédéric Lequien, CEO of WEC, welcomed the continued collaboration and underlined Bosch’s long-standing contribution to the championship’s growth. He pointed out that having a global leader in automotive technology strengthens WEC’s ability to innovate and evolve in a rapidly changing industry.
He added: “Bosch has been a loyal and long-standing partner to the FIA World Endurance Championship, and we are delighted and proud to be extending that relationship for at least another two years. As a global leader in the realm of automotive equipment, Bosch is always at the cutting-edge of technology and engineering, and as such, is a vital partner to have by our side as we drive FIA WEC forward into an ever-brighter and more innovative future.”
A shared vision for performance and sustainability
Ultimately, the renewed agreement strengthens Bosch’s strategic presence in endurance racing while reinforcing the shared vision between Bosch, WEC and the ACO. Together, they aim to push the boundaries of performance, efficiency and sustainability.
Looking ahead, this partnership will continue to position WEC and the 24 Hours of Le Mans as leading platforms for innovation. Crucially, it ensures that technologies developed under extreme racing conditions will continue to influence the next generation of road vehicles.
