Campos Racing Team Principal Adrian Campos Jr reflected on their bittersweet 2025 F2 campaign after the team missed out on the Teams’ Championship once again. Despite falling short, the season proved highly successful for the Spanish outfit, who fielded Arvid Lindblad and Pepe Martí, with Nikola Tsolov stepping in for the final two rounds. Campos finished 3rd in the Teams’ Standings with 258 points, as Lindblad and Martí finished 5th and 8th in the Drivers’ Standings respectively.

Campos Jr: 2025 has been the team’s best season so far

Reflecting on his team’s season, “I think we can’t complain,” said Campos Jr. He described the 2025 season as the team’s best to date and looked back on Martí’s journey with the team. The Spaniard’s journey with Campos stretched back to his debut season in single-seaters. Martí’s departure from Formula 2 marked a fresh start for the 20 year-old as he stepped into a full-time Formula E seat with CUPRA KIRO.

“Overall it has been a very good season in every category. In F3 obviously, but in F2, we had a few things that can always be improved, but it has been our best season so far for Campos.”

“All three of them have been great, Pepe was the first driver that did his entire career with us. Since his first test ever in F4, all the way up to F2. He was not lucky enough to make it to F1, but he became professional, so I am happy for him.”

The team turned to another Red Bull Junior to fill Martí’s seat, bringing in 2025 F3 Vice-Champion Nikola Tsolov, who also raced for them this season. In just his second weekend, the Bulgarian claimed his maiden F2 podium in the final Sprint Race of the year.

“Nikola took his role and did a great job coming from Formula 3, coming to a new track and in a new car. Arvid, for the experience he had, he has been amazing. He has been improving throughout the year, he will have a great career in F1.”

Another F1 success story for Campos

The Spanish outfit has yet again celebrated a driver moving up to Formula 1 after a season with the team. Last year, Isack Hadjar earned his promotion to Racing Bulls following a standout F2 campaign that saw him finish 2nd in the standings. This year, it was Lindblad who scored himself a promotion to Formula 1 with Racing Bulls for the 2026 season.

Reflecting on the milestone, Campos Jr said: “I think everyone will agree with me that we are here to try to help the drivers reach F1, or at least become professional. In the last two seasons, this has been achieved with all the drivers that have been racing with us.”

“So very happy for that, it’s the main thing. We did not win the Championship, but the drivers became professional. That has to be the goal, if you get drivers to F1, more drivers will want to race with us, so that has to be the goal.”

A full rookie lineup in 2026

After two strong campaigns, Campos Jr. and his team are hoping to take home both titles in 2026. The Spanish outfit will field two rookies next season: Tsolov, who got his first taste of F2 machinery in Qatar and Abu Dhabi, and Noel León, who got his first experience during the post-season test in Abu Dhabi.

“It’s going to be the first year with the new car that we are racing with rookies, so for sure it will be challenging, but I am sure that they will develop properly.”

“They will improve, they are now doing a lot of laps, they are learning all they need to learn the to start the season in a good shape. We will have another chance to try and win the Championship, so let’s see if 2026 is the year.”
