CUPRA Kiro Gen4 partnership will continue into Formula E’s next generation after Kiro Race Co confirmed. The Spanish automotive manufacturer CUPRA will remain the team’s co-title partner throughout the upcoming Gen4 era.
Announcement of CUPRA Kiro’s Gen4 partnership strengthens one of Formula E’s most recognisable commercial partnerships. The Formula E championship is preparing to introduce an all-new Gen4 car for the 2026-27 season. New regulations will bring 600kW of power. An active all-wheel drive and enhanced regenerative braking will mark the biggest technological step in the series’ history.
Partnership extended into the GEN4 era
Since joining forces ahead of Season 11, CUPRA KIRO has established itself as one of Formula E’s fastest-growing teams. This is true both on and off the circuit, especially with the upcoming CUPRA Kiro Gen4 partnership.
Together, the partnership has produced three pole positions, four podium finishes and one race victory. Beyond racing, CUPRA KIRO has also expanded its commercial reach through collaborations with MrBeast, Marvel Studios and Amazon MGM Studios. It is helping the team reach audiences beyond traditional motorsport.
Kiro Race Co also confirmed that Porsche Motorsport will continue as its technical partner throughout the Gen4 era. This allows the team to benefit from Porsche’s championship-winning Formula E package.
Jeremy Tarica, Managing Director of The Forest Road Company, described the extension as an important moment for the organisation.
“Extending our relationship with CUPRA into the GEN4 era of Formula E is a hugely significant milestone for Kiro Race Co. In less than two years, we’ve established a partnership that has delivered success on track while simultaneously creating meaningful commercial opportunities that have connected with audiences far beyond motorsport.
“Formula E’s next chapter represents a bold step forward for the championship, and we’re equally ambitious about where we’re taking Kiro Race Co as a sports franchise. We’re incredibly proud that CUPRA has chosen to continue that journey with us.”
CUPRA Kiro prepares for Formula E Gen4
Formula E’s Gen4 era will begin in December with a record-breaking 21-race calendar. It will open in Jeddah before visiting 13 cities across the globe.
The new generation of Formula E machinery will feature 600kW of peak power. Active all-wheel drive and up to 700kW regenerative braking will make it fastest and technologically advanced car in championship’s history.
Russell O’Hagan believes extending partnership before current campaign concludes provides stability heading into CUPRA Kiro’s Formula E next chapter in Gen4.
“In Formula E, success is never built overnight. It’s built through consistency, trust, and long-term partnerships, so extending our relationship with CUPRA into the GEN4 era is fantastic news for everyone within the team.
“We’ve already shown what we’re capable of achieving together, but I firmly believe that the best is still to come. As Formula E enters a new chapter, it’s incredibly rewarding to know that we’ll be taking our next steps alongside a partner that shares our competitive mindset and our ambition to one day fight at the very front of the championship.”
With Porsche continuing as technical partner and CUPRA reaffirming its long-term commitment, CUPRA Kiro Gen4 preparations are already underway as Formula E heads towards its most ambitious era yet.
