Following an impressive performance on both sides of Cupra Kiro’s garage in Madrid, the Formula E outlet gets ready to tackle on a new challenge in Berlin. In fact, during the latest racing weekend, Dan Ticktum and Pepe Martí had fought hard to secure the best final results.

Second point finish in a row for Ticktum

Dan Ticktum had crawled his way up to the podium fight, even running in the race lead towards the end of the race. Ultimately, the former Red Bull Academy driver had to surrender the podium positions to the Jaguar drivers and fellow Porsche-powered colleague Pascal Wehrlein.

However, P4 and a second top 5 finish in a row after a rather complicated beginning of the 2025-2026 Formula E season is definitely an encouraging sign for the Cupra Kiro driver ahead of the Berlin double header. Ticktum admitted that considering his recent pace, he is looking forward to the race, in spite of his dislike for the track layout.

Berlin is a very cool place, and although Tempelhof is one of my least favourite circuits on the calendar, it’s a venue and setting that I like a lot. Last season, we showed that we have the potential to be quite strong there over the weekend, and after the good result in Madrid, I’m really hoping to build on our momentum and consistency in Germany by getting some more points on the board.”

A new track for rookie Martì

The young Spaniard was in the points for the fourth time this year in the latest round held in Madrid. Martí ‘s rookie impact has been a great asset to Cupra Kiro, with his strong performances and his consistency definitely worthy of notice, and he is aiming to continue his learning in Berlin.

I’m really excited for Berlin and after quite a long break and coming off the back of another double points finish in Madrid, I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel. With two races taking place, this weekend is shaping up to be quite busy and given Berlin’s unique characteristics, I think it’ll be a constant learning experience. Despite that, I’m hoping that we can come away with some good results in both races.”

High team expectations in Berlin for Cupra Kiro Formula E

Cupra Kiro has manage to score 32 points in the last two races, the most out of every Formula E team apart from Jaguar, and will definitely look for opportunities to improve this statistic in Berlin.

Team Principal Russell O’Hara discussed the challenges that await his drivers in the upcoming German double header, as well as the upturn in performance seen in the latest rounds.

I’m looking forward to getting the season back underway after a longer than usual gap following Madrid. After a relatively intense start to the year, we made sure to use the break to consolidate everything we have learnt in the opening phase of the season and to set some revised and ambitious targets.”

In his opinion, both Ticktum and Martí’s driving styles suit the legendary track, while acknowledging the fact that it’ll be a difficult baptism for the rookie talent from Formula 2.

Berlin is the perfect location to start what is effectively the second half of the year, and it’s a track that we know extremely well. Dan especially showed strong pace at Tempelhof last year by starting on the front row, but it will be a new experience for Pepe because, although we understand the circuit well, it’s unique and unlike anything else he’s raced on.”

Based on the form we’ve shown, we know we’re capable of delivering strong results and we’re getting closer.  After coming tantalisingly close in Madrid, it feels like it’s only a matter of time before we’ll be fighting for a podium again, and with close to 60% of the season still ahead of us there is lots to achieve.”
