Reigning GB4 Teams’ Champions Elite Motorsport will field four drivers in the inaugural GB4 Winter Series at Snetterton on 24–25 October 2026. The Norfolk-based outfit enters the new championship following consecutive Teams’ Championship victories in 2025 and 2026, with a line-up combining established GB4 experience and promising single-seater newcomers.
John O’Donnell joins the team following his first full GB4 campaign, while Henry Cameron, Harrison Mackie and Jesse Phillips will make their championship debuts. The quartet will compete across four races at Elite Motorsport’s home circuit as the team seeks to continue its recent success and provide valuable development opportunities ahead of 2027.
Elite Motorsport builds on consecutive GB4 titles
Elite Motorsport enters the Winter Series following another successful GB4 campaign. The team secured its second consecutive Teams’ Championship at Brands Hatch, completing a remarkable recovery after losing its opening-round championship points.
As Pit Debrief’s review of the 2026 season details, the outfit finished with 688 points, 86 clear of Hillspeed, after collecting seven victories and 17 podium finishes across the campaign.
Furthermore, Elite’s latest entry demonstrates its commitment to developing young drivers through British single-seater racing. The team will field the maximum permitted four cars at Snetterton, with three drivers stepping into GB4 machinery for the first time.
O’Donnell targets Winter Series title with Elite Motorsport
John O’Donnell brings the most GB4 experience to Elite Motorsport’s Winter Series line-up. The 18-year-old American-Korean driver made his championship debut during the final round of 2025 before completing his first full season in 2026 with Pace Performance.
Throughout the campaign, O’Donnell demonstrated steady improvement, culminating in his maiden podium at Donington Park in September. He finished third in the final race of the weekend, behind winner Josh McLean and Douglas Motorsport’s Conor Grant.
That breakthrough strengthened his confidence ahead of his move to Elite, where he hopes to challenge for the inaugural Winter Series crown.
O’Donnell outlined his ambitions ahead of the Snetterton event:
“My goal is to win the GB4 Winter Series by scoring podium race results at the very least.”
Cameron prepares for single-seater debut
Henry Cameron will make his first single-seater racing appearance at Snetterton after progressing through the Ginetta Junior Championship with Elite Motorsport.
The 16-year-old from Wilmslow joined the team towards the end of 2025 before contesting the 2026 Ginetta Junior season. His move into GB4 represents the next stage of his development as he transitions from closed-wheel machinery to single-seaters.
Cameron also comes from a motorsport background. His father, Duncan Cameron, secured a podium finish in the LMGTE Am category at the 2017 24 Hours of Le Mans.
However, the younger Cameron intends to focus primarily on gaining experience rather than setting immediate competitive targets.
“I just want to learn as much as possible by competing in the GB4 Winter Series.”
Mackie steps up following successful Ginetta Junior campaign
Harrison Mackie also graduates from Elite Motorsport’s Ginetta Junior programme after finishing runner-up in the 2026 championship.
The 16-year-old enjoyed an impressive campaign, claiming four victories while consistently challenging at the front. Furthermore, he brings extensive karting experience, having secured multiple titles before progressing into car racing.
Mackie has also gained single-seater experience in Saudi Formula 4, where he has demonstrated encouraging pace.
Unlike several competitors, the British driver enjoys considerable familiarity with the Snetterton circuit. He lives in Attleborough, a short distance from the venue, making the Winter Series particularly significant on a personal level.
Nevertheless, Mackie remains focused on his development as he prepares for his first GB4 appearance.
“My aim in the GB4 Winter Series is to do the best job I can. Learn as much as I can and gain valuable experience to help me improve as a driver.”
Phillips joins Elite Motorsport after impressive junior career
Jesse Phillips completes Elite Motorsport’s four-car line-up, joining the outfit after another competitive season in the Ginetta Junior Championship.
The 15-year-old Hampshire driver finished fourth in the 2026 standings, securing nine podium finishes. He also gained experience in single-seater machinery by making his British Formula 4 debut at the Brands Hatch season finale.
Previously, Phillips claimed the 2025 Ginetta Junior Winter Series title, demonstrating his ability to deliver strong performances in short championship formats.
His earlier karting career also produced considerable success. Phillips won several major titles, including the British Karting Championship in 2022 and the IAME Winter Cup and Euro Series in 2023.
Consequently, he approaches his GB4 debut with ambitions extending beyond simply gaining experience.
“I’m looking to develop as much experience in the Winter Series while at the same time fighting for the title.”
Ives welcomes four-driver challenge at Snetterton
Team Principal Eddie Ives expressed confidence in Elite Motorsport’s latest line-up, highlighting the balance between experienced competitors and drivers making the transition into single-seaters.
“We’re really pleased to be part of the inaugural GB4 Winter Series and to bring four cars to our ‘home’ circuit at Snetterton.
“Having won the GB4 Teams’ Championship for the past two seasons, it’s great to continue that momentum into the winter and give our drivers another opportunity to develop.
“Henry and Harrison are both making the step up from Ginetta Juniors where they’ve shown plenty of promise. Jesse arrives after a strong season and has already demonstrated his ability to win. John also joins us for the first time, bringing valuable GB4 experience and a podium result from earlier in the year.
“It’s an exciting line-up, with a good balance of drivers taking their first steps in single-seaters and others looking to build on what they’ve already achieved.
“We’ll be working hard to get everyone up to speed and hopefully make a strong start to this new championship on ‘home’ soil.”
Inaugural GB4 Winter Series presents four-race challenge
The 2026 GB4 Winter Series will feature two qualifying sessions and four races across the Snetterton 300 circuit.
Saturday’s programme will begin with a 20-minute qualifying session before two 20-minute races. The championship will repeat that format on Sunday, with the final race determining the inaugural Winter Series champion.
Unlike the regular GB4 season, the Winter Series will not feature reverse-grid races. Instead, each qualifying session will determine the starting positions for both races that day, using drivers’ fastest and second-fastest lap times.
With 35 points available for each victory, consistency across all four races will play an important role in deciding the title.
For Elite Motorsport, the event provides an opportunity to continue its championship-winning momentum while helping its latest drivers prepare for future single-seater challenges.
