Emmilio Valentino Del Grosso will compete in the 2026 GB4 Championship with Elite Motorsport, marking an important step in his racing career. After gaining experience in junior tin-top competition, the 16-year-old now transitions into single-seaters, where he aims to continue his development.

Importantly, Del Grosso remains with Elite Motorsport, ensuring continuity as he takes on a new challenge.

Building foundations in Ginetta Juniors

Last season, Del Grosso contested the Ginetta Junior Rookie Championship, which represented his first year in car racing. Despite the steep learning curve, he finished 14th in the standings and achieved a best overall result of seventh place.

These performances provided valuable experience and helped him establish a solid foundation for the next phase of his career.

Rapid progress from karting

Before moving into cars, Del Grosso began karting in 2023. He competed in the X30 Senior class and quickly progressed to series such as the IAME Euroseries and IAME Series Benelux. As a result, he gained exposure to competitive international fields, which has prepared him for the demands of GB4.

Looking ahead, Del Grosso has set clear goals for his debut GB4 campaign. While he recognises the challenge, he remains focused on consistent improvement and performance.

“GB4 is a major step in my career and one I’ve been working towards for a long time. The opportunity to stay within the Elite Motorsport family means a lot to me. I know the level will be high but that’s exactly what motivates me and I’m ready to embrace the challenge ahead. My goal is to keep developing, push myself every weekend and work towards consistent, competitive results.”

Team owner Eddie Ives expressed strong confidence in Del Grosso’s potential, highlighting both his progress and attitude.

“We’re really pleased to see Emmilio step up into GB4 with Elite Motorsport and continue his journey with us for another season. His time in Ginetta Juniors has given him a valuable grounding in car racing and he’s learned a huge amount that puts him in a strong position to make the move into single-seaters. GB4 is a significant step but we believe he has the attitude and ability to adapt quickly and keep developing in a highly competitive environment. It’s always rewarding to promote drivers from within and we’re excited to see what Emmilio can achieve this year.”

Looking ahead

As the GB4 season approaches, Del Grosso enters the championship with both experience and determination. Although the competition will intensify, his steady progression suggests he has the tools to adapt. With Elite Motorsport’s support and a clear focus on improvement, Del Grosso now aims to make his mark in single-seater racing.
