Fox Motorsport has confirmed South African rookie Enzo Rujugiro as part of its GB4 Championship line-up for 2026. Consequently, the 15-year-old from Johannesburg strengthens the team’s increasingly international roster as it prepares for the upcoming season.

Rujugiro will race one of the team’s Tatuus MSV GB4-025 cars across the seven-round campaign, which begins at Silverstone’s Grand Prix circuit on 25–26 April.

Rising through the karting ranks

Rujugiro began his motorsport journey at the age of eight in South Africa. He quickly made an impression in karting, progressing through the junior categories while setting multiple lap records that still stand today. As his reputation grew, he secured backing from Ican Management, which helped him access opportunities on the international stage.

In 2023, Rujugiro moved into European competition, racing in Italy before joining some of the most respected teams in karting. Over the following two seasons, he competed with CRG, Kart Republic and Alonso Kart DPK in the WSK Champions of the Future Series, as well as European and World Championships.

This exposure to elite-level competition has provided him with a strong foundation as he transitions into car racing.

Transition to single-seaters

After spending 2025 testing various junior racing cars, Rujugiro recently experienced a GB4 car for the first time at Snetterton. This test marked his debut outing with Fox Motorsport and formed part of an extensive pre-season programme. Importantly, he will team up with fellow rookie Jasser Iskander as Fox prepares to field a multi-car entry in 2026.

Rujugiro has already begun adapting to his new environment and is enthusiastic about the challenge ahead.

“I’m so excited to join Fox Motorsport for my first season in the GB4 Championship and to represent not just the team and myself, but Africa as well. The team at Fox have made me feel so welcome this week and that’s really helped me get used to everything in terms of driving the car. It’s definitely very different to a kart, but I’m already getting the hang of things and that will keep coming as I drive at more and more of the circuits pre-season. I’m looking forward to what’s coming up.”

Team focus on development

Team principal Paul McNeilly emphasised the importance of preparation as Rujugiro makes the transition from karting to single-seaters.

“We’re delighted to welcome Enzo to Fox Motorsport as we expand to our most international driver line-up ever. He’s coming straight out of karting so naturally there’s plenty to learn at this stage of his development, but we have worked out what we think will be an ideal pre-season programme to make sure he’s comfortable with the car and the team and is where he wants to be by the start of the season. It’s gearing up to be a very exciting year.”

As the 2026 GB4 season approaches, Rujugiro faces a steep but exciting learning curve. Nevertheless, his karting pedigree and international experience suggest he has the tools to adapt quickly. With strong support from Fox Motorsport and a comprehensive testing programme in place, Rujugiro now aims to make a confident start to his single-seater career.
