After claiming a dominant victory earlier today, Campos Racing’s Alisha Palmowski headed into the second race of the weekend having claimed the championship lead from Audi-backed Emma Felbermayr. However, attention was focused on Kaylee Countryman and Rafaela Ferreira, who started from the front row of the grid.

With a clean launch off the line, Ferreira led the pack down to Turn 1, as Countryman and Mathilda Paatz slotted in behind. Going side-by-side in the fight for P4, Alba Larsen and Felbermayr were not afraid to get their elbows out before the Audi-backed driver spun around. Further down the field, Ava Dobson and Rachel Robertson came to a stop on track, deploying the first safety car of the race.

After acing the safety car restart, Ferreira became the focus of attention, with questions emerging over whether she had jumped the start or not. Soon enough, the stewards escalated the incident. Meanwhile, several drivers were being handed penalties—Ella Stevens receiving a stop-and-go penalty, while Jade Jacquet was given a five-second time penalty.

After their podium finishes earlier today, Bruce sent Palmowski spinning before Nina Gademan attempted to take avoiding action but ended up in the barriers. Another safety car was soon deployed to retrieve the Alpine-liveried car. After jumping the start, the stewards handed Ferreira a five-second time penalty.

Crossing the chequered flag, Ferreira led the pack across the line, but following her penalty, Paatz claimed her maiden F1 Academy victory, with Larsen and Countryman completing the podium.
