F1 Academy returned to the track at the 2026 Dutch GP for Free Practice, with the drivers using the opening laps to settle into the Zandvoort circuit after in-season testing had also taken place at the venue.

Ella Lloyd set the first benchmark with a 1:41.043s, before the lap times quickly began to fall. With just under 30 minutes remaining, Emma Felbermayr moved to the top with a 1:39.622s. However, Lisa Billard soon bettered her effort as the field continued to work through set-up preferences and possible race strategies.

Home favourite Nina Gademan sat 15th in the early stages before a lock-up at Turn 1, followed by a snap of oversteer. Alba Larsen then made a strong improvement to go fastest, while several drivers, including Alisha Palmowski, remained in the pits. Gademan later improved to seventh as the session continued.

The first major interruption came when Ava Dobson ran wide through Turn 8 and stopped at Turn 9 after making contact with the wall. Race Control initially brought out yellow flags before red-flagging the session.

During the stoppage, rain began to fall, adding another challenge for the drivers. The session resumed with just 13 minutes remaining, leaving Palmowski among those needing to get out quickly and set representative lap times.

Larsen still led from Felbermayr and Rafaela Ferreira when running resumed. Another yellow flag followed due to a track hazard, but Gademan then found more pace and went fastest with a 1:38.792 with five minutes remaining.

The session ended under another red flag after Jade Jacquet went off the circuit while coming up the hill out of Turn 7. With little time left on the clock, Race Control stopped the session, leaving Gademan fastest in a disrupted Free Practice at Zandvoort.
