F2 is back again for the second week in a row for the emblematic 2025 Monaco F2 GP, full report and results below. This free practice session is the chance for drivers and teams to prepare for the prize everyone covets above all others, Monte Carlo.

The Monaco track is the shortest venue yet one of the most challenging circuits in motorsport due to its narrow layout, tight corners, and lack of run-off areas. Drivers must navigate close barriers with pinpoint precision, leaving no room for error. Overtaking is notoriously difficult, making qualifying position crucial for these drivers.

Following the 2025 Imola F2 Round, Irish driver Alex Dunne leads the standings with 64 points, closely followed by Britain’s Luke Browning at 58 points and Dutch veteran Richard Verschoor with 55 points. The championship remains highly competitive, with multiple drivers and teams in contention as the season progresses.

Lights out for FP in Monte Carlo

The drivers took to the track after a virtual safety car ended brought out by Zane Malone. All the F2 drivers went out on track to take advantage of all the seconds and get a feel of the race track at the Monaco GP in FP.

While Durksen took P1 at the beginning of the FP session with a 1:38.378, Crawford and Meguetounif kept close behind with respectives 1:38.445 and 1:38.614. Meanwhile, Montoya found his fast lap impeded by traffic but avoided contact with his competitors.

While struggling for grip, last week’s Feature Race winner, Dunne, pushed Minì down to second place as he set a 1:25.666.

30 minutes on the clock

Crawford, Dürksen, Dunne, Meguetounif and Minì constituted the top 5 with 30 minutes remaining in the session.

Drivers were not finding a lot of grip on the race track around the streets of Monte Carlo. Meanwhile, Victor Martins. was leading the timesheets with a 1:24.014, closely followed by Crawford and Dürksen. Martins improved on his own time with a fast 1:23.230, taking him to the top.

Crawford triggered a yellow flag as he went off down at Mirabeau, using the escape road. The DAMS Lucas Oil driver managed to reverse his car to get back on the track. The American driver went past track limits on his next flying lap, thus getting his lap time deleted.

The yellow flag out was waved again at turn one following Esterson’s lock up. The Trident driver could not rejoin the track, consequently ending his session earlier than expected.

With 16 minutes left on the clock Martins still dominated the timesheets. The driver to beat lowered his benchmark time once again to a 1:22.623.

Last attempts to reach P1

Fornaroli briefly caused the deployment of the yellow flag. With his engine still running the Italian found his way back onto the Monaco circuit.

While Minì was setting a good lap with the fastest first sector, his lap was interrupted by a red flag as Amaury Cordeel went into the barriers at turn one. Though he stood in a strong fifth position, the German driver’s session ended abruptely – with a lot of repair works for Rodin Motorsport.

Chequered flag

As the session promptly resumed, the drivers set their final attempts at reaching P1. Dunne set the fastest middle sector and a strong 1:22.948. His lap was however not quick enough to demote Martins from P1.

At the top of the timesheets, Browning demoted Dunne down to third position owing to a quick 1:22.807 lap.

Within the last minutes, Mini briefly took P1 from Martins with a 1:22.480. At the very end of the session, Martins pulled through once more, putting his car in first with a purple lap overall, 7 and a half tenth clear of his rivals.
