After the British GP Feature Race was cut short due to poor conditions, Rafael Camâra remains the 2025 F3 Championship leader, followed by Tim Tramnitz and Nikola Tsolov.

Mari Boya secured his maiden F3 Feature Race victory at the British GP in dramatic fashion, maintaining his composure through torrential rain that ultimately forced race officials to red-flag the event after just 14 laps. The Campos Racing driver capitalised on his strategic tyre choice to control proceedings from the front, finishing ahead of Théophile Naël in second for Van Amersfoort Racing and Noel Léon who claimed the final podium position for PREMA Racing.

What happened during the F3 British GP Feature Race?

The race began in chaotic circumstances as pre-race rainfall had split the grid’s tyre strategies, with some drivers opting for wet-weather Pirelli’s whilst others gambled on hard slick compounds. As the formation lap commenced, the heavens opened further, leaving those on slicks severely disadvantaged. Championship contenders Nikola Tsolov, and Rafael Câmara all plummeted down the order as their slick tyres proved wholly unsuitable for the conditions, with lap times running a staggering seven to ten seconds slower than those on the appropriate wet rubber.

The early stages saw Boya establish a commanding lead of over two seconds by lap five, whilst behind him drivers on the correct tyres made swift progress through the field. Alessandro Giusti exemplified this advantage, recovering from an opening-lap spin to climb back to 16th position within two laps. As the rain intensified further, drivers on slicks began abandoning their strategy, with Charlie Wurz first to pit for wets on lap seven. However, the deteriorating conditions ultimately proved too severe even for wet-weather tyres, and after Louis Sharp’s spin brought out the safety car on lap 11.

Officials had to red-flag the session three laps later. The shortened race handed Boya his breakthrough victory, with Roman Bilinski fourth for Rodin, whilst Laurens van Hoepen’s false start penalty dropped him from fifth to seventh, promoting Christian Ho and James Wharton into the points-paying positions.
