The 2025 F3 Monaco GP showcased the circuit’s relentless challenge, as drivers battled through its tight, low-speed layout and scarce overtaking opportunities. Once again, history repeated itself, with the pole-sitter from Qualifying leading the pack across the checkered flag to claim the Feature Race victory. The streets of Monte Carlo, as always, produced winners and losers across the 2025 F3 Monaco GP weekend.
Winners of the 2025 F3 Monaco GP
Nikola Tsolov – Campos Racing
Tsolov delivered a standout weekend at the 2025 F3 Monaco GP. He started his weekend by topping the timings in Free Practice and securing pole in Qualifying. He wasn’t as fortunate in the Sprint Race, but brought it back by leading every lap of the Feature Race, not only setting the fastest lap but also sealing the win. With five career victories, he now holds the record for most F3 race wins. Just 16 points behind championship leader Câmara, Tsolov has firmly positioned himself as a title contender.
Roman Bilinski – Rodin Motorsport
Bilinski secured his second podium of the season in the Feature Race (with his first in the Melbourne Sprint Race), an impressive milestone in his 2025 campaign. Almost a year ago, a road accident left him with two broken vertebrae and six screws in his back. Despite a long recovery, he’s shown unwavering determination and is making a strong mark on the 2025 FIA F3 season, currently in 7th position.
Martinius Stenshorne – Hitech TGR
Stenshorne clinched the Sprint Race victory on Saturday, marking his first win since Melbourne 2024. Starting P11 in the Feature Race, he fought his way through the field to finish P8, adding a few more points to his weekend haul.
ART Grand Prix
ART Grand Prix continued to build momentum in Monaco, adding another strong performance to their recent run of form. Tukka Taponen and Laurens Van Hoepen secured P2 and P3 in the Sprint Race, earning valuable points for both themselves and the team. Meanwhile, James Wharton, after a lacklustre start to the season, showed clear signs of progress. He charged from P22 to P11 in the Feature Race to get his best finish so far, just falling one spot short of the points.
Losers of the 2025 F3 Monaco GP
Rafael Câmara – TRIDENT
Championship leader Câmara will want to forget his weekend in Monaco. He suffered a puncture in the Sprint Race and a three-place grid penalty for ignoring the minimum delta time under Red Flags. His weekend worsened when he lost his right rear wheel on lap 24 of the Feature Race, forcing him to retire. With Câmara scoring only 4 points in Monaco, several drivers are now closing in on the 2025 F3 Championship leader.
Nicola Lacorte – DAMS Lucas Oil
Lacorte didn’t secure many wins at all in Monaco, as his weekend was unfortunately full of losses. He began the weekend in P26 but collided with Santiago Ramos on the Sprint Race’s opening lap. He unnecessarily pinched Ramos at Turn 7, taking them both out of the race and earning a 10-second penalty. As he didn’t finish the Sprint, this was converted to a five-place grid drop for the Feature Race. His misfortune continued to the Feature Race, as he retired the car at the conclusion of the 16th lap.
James Hedley – AIX Racing
Hedley collided with Ivan Domingues’ Van Amersfoort Racing vehicle in the opening lap of the Sprint Race in Monaco. This then saw him withdrawn from Sunday’s Feature Race, as he sustained a hand injury in the crash. Monaco was Hedley’s second weekend competing with AIX Racing as he replaced Javier Sagrera in Imola, but his future remains uncertain due to his injury. He also received a 5-second time penalty as he started the Sprint Race not in the correct starting position, with his front tyres outside the grid line box .
Noel León – PREMA Racing
León was one of the many unlucky drivers who succumbed to Monaco’s streets. He retired in the first lap of the Sprint Race. His woes continued into the Feature Race, where on Lap 18, he saw his PREMA Racing livery in the wall at Portier. With only 6 points to his name, León will be hoping for an improvement over the next few rounds of the season.
That rounds out the F3 2025 Monaco GP winners and losers. With 2/3 Rounds now completed for the current European Triple Header, the drivers now head to Barcelona to commence Round 5 of the FIA 2025 F3 Championship.
